The Spurs have won 14 straight. The Lakers are 16-4 last 20 games. Considering the Lakers went 3-1 over the Spurs this season, and are 10-5 over the Spurs in playoff games over the past three seasons, and considering the Laker's large following, IMO L.A. will be a -150 favorite to win the series. Of course numbers don't always tell the story.

Houston may not even be a top ten NBA team but they've played L.A. tough. The Rockets had a shot to win game one at the buzzer, then handily won game three, while taking L.A. to OT in game four. Houston showed alot of try but no way to beat L.A. three straight. The Rockets are done. I'll be on disciplined, team ball playing S.A. to beat talented but discombobulated L.A.

Thoughts from the astute forum?

I look for the Spurs to win in five easy games. The best player in the NBA (KG possibly aside) will not be denied.

Duncan is better than Shaq, but I do remember thinking to self last year, while watching Spurs win series(had 'em), that if LA only had one more player than the big two..they'd win.

As Fischer has declined from three years ago, and Horry had disappeared, well behold they sign two, but only one can produce(Malone), as the worn out Glove can no longer score, and I doubt he could even slow Parker?

He hasn't been able to stop Francis nor Mobley.

If Ginobili is held in check LA has a chance, but if he excels, and/or if Bowen & the Colo case lock up Kobe..it's over with.

Wil, ole boy I respect your opinion but I don't see anything coming easy in this matchup. The Lakers will try and reach for a bit extra off getting run over by the Spurs in last season's playoffs. S.A. in seven would work for me. Of course your "in five" would also. BOL.

I like the Spurs. Bowen locks up the hotdog and Shaq can't stop Duncan. Horry hits all his 3's in crunch time. Ginobili and Parker will give the Lakers fits.

Already have the Spurs to go all the way again. Bought it before the playoffs, when Spurs beat La in La to stop 11 game win streak. Was shocked to find so much 6-1, and some 7-1. Even 6-1 to win West. Sold my wife a buck at 7-1, per her request. You can see what LA struggles with in this Rockets series. Fast guards, like Stevie just eat them up. Wait until they see even faster Parker again. The glove looks more like the matador playing him. Bowen sticks to Kobe like glue, Gets him down to low 30% fg. Laker MVP mailman been career loser against Tim. Going from Rockets PF's to Duncan is about as big of gap as there is. Nestor will bang with Shaq, get his 6 fouls worth, while Shaq is lucky to get 40% ft. Depth is huge advantage for Spurs. Plus Spurs now resting, after brooming a team I thought was better than Rockets. I know Pop and Spurs going through LA/Hou tape with fine tooth comb. Spurs stole Horry, replaced Admiral and got Hedo. I think Spurs did even better than Lakers, just not the hall of fame names. Homecourt, big but Spurs crushed Lakers last year on LA floor, game #6 humiliation. They now have Karl, who is lighting up Rockets, but his season high was against same Cato. Spurs now shooting lights out, makes them unbeatable when they hit their shots, defense is always there. Only Laker rep and squares keeping price on Lakers as chalk. Some places, particularly ones I nailed on Spurs futures have Spurs at lower price than Lakers to win it all. Last year series was Laker fave -1.50, approx. Now Spurs have won it all, knocked them out last year. Last 7 meaniful contests, Spurs 5-2, 2 huge wins on Lakers homecourt. I am thinking Lakers -1.20 or pick. Depending on game #5 Lakers. Even though Lakers are 3-1, could easily be 1-3, just a young team against them not knowing how to finish. Spurs know how to finish, are on a major roll, and are just getting ready for the next step of their next championship. Should this series be a pick, of course not. Could be a sweep, these teams have history of sweeping each other. I think 5 is right. Best Wishes...OF

Houston could have easily won three of the first four games. Have to play Rockets + 7.5 in Game Five, hoping they don't fold.

LAL-G-Bryant-PROBABLE to play, but
pre-trial obligations may make him late
for game: possibly may not start)

IMO, he'll be there, most likely on time.
