This is from Phil Mushnick on 4/25 in the NYPost....

There are boxing people, including journalist Thomas Hauser (see: secondsout.com) who have it on good authority that Mesi suffered a brain clot on March 13, thus shouldn't fight for a long time, if ever again. Mesi's father/handler flatly denies it.

There are also rumors that a Tyson-Mesi fight will be held at an Indian casino in Canada to circumvent boxing commission authorities, no matter how feckless they may be.

And there are boxing people who are convinced that Mesi, more than most, is one Tyson punch to the head away from leaving the arena in a body bag.

Reports in Buffalo have said "post concusion syndrome", but it's the same deal - Mesi's dad denies it.

Good info - there must be something serious for all of these rumors to fly.

judging from mesi's last couple of performances he should probably consider retiring. he has a questionable chin at best and now with possible medical problems, it maybe time for him to move on to his life's work. even if he continues fighting he will probably be considered no more than stern competition for up and coming fighters unless he has a couple of career changing performances soon. it will be difficult to do that now though because as i stated earlier his chin has been exposed by one suspect heavyweight and a blown up cruiserweight in his last couple fights
