As I found this topic to be somewhat interesting and suspicious as to how offshore books have handled it I took the time to call and speak to the racing officials at Finger Lakes.

I just got off the phone with the Richard in the Racing Stewards office at Finger Lakes. We spoke in length about the race in question. There is no investigation ongoing nor will there be. Richard stated that they did receive a couple of calls and although they looked at the race replay there was no wrongdoing. He further stated that the horse in question had just recently worked 36 in a 3 Furlong work and that the field was less than spectacular. He stated he has seen many races such as this in his career. Finally he stated that the Stewards office would never commence an investigation brought on by phonecalls from offshore bookmakers.

So Jake flat-out lied in the other thread about the "ongoing investigation" he said was being conducted by the track.

One other thing to add was that in their minds this was just a hot first time starter in a subpar race where aside from the posted 3F work no other info was available and obviously only those close to the connections new of any adherant ability.

This is just absolutely ridiculous.Flat out fvcking lies.Proves once again to be another black eye for the offshores.Careful where you are sending your money and remember don't win too much at one book spread it out, what do you think they are in the gambling business? And when you think about it it makes sense.I would think it would not be very wise for these tracks to have any contact with any bm no matter where they are located.Exactly why I asked the question on who brought up the fixing charges in the other thread.

If this is the case Jake will pay won't he? He mentioned if the race came back clean he would pay all monies owed correct?

I would like to know who these books are that are not paying off horse bets. Is this the same Jake from Sportbet? What did the horse pay?

Thanks wilheim. The horse pays $24.60 and these SHIT books are stiffing the guy? No hint of foul play, no investigation. Are horse players such losers that if a bettor hits an 11-1 medium longshot these books think the race must be fixed and refuse to pay and keep your deposit. My feeling is that the guy opened an account and his first bet was this horse. If true and he opened 15 accounts to play this horse he obviously knew he had the winner. The books still have to pay as far as I am concerned.
