One of the brightest stars reduced to just a flicker the past 4 years....Is he still destined for Cooperstown?

i think he will still make it. if nothing else, he is a fan favorite that has done a lot for baseball.

i remember one time at camden yards here in baltimore when he was still with seattle, he came out to the ondeck circle and was signing baseballs and tossing them to kids in the stands. THIS WAS DURING THE GAME!

A little trivia for ya......

I have a picture that I took of JR crossing homeplate after his first HOME RUN EVER in a Major League uniform.

Took the photo at the very first spring training game of his rookie year.

I think he still makes it rather easily...A couple radio guys were debating this today...

I think Jr could still end up with 600 homeruns , he`s just taking the scenic route these days lol

I have been wondering the same thing for some time...He doesn`t appear to be heavy into training...There have been many players though who never did much weight training that thrived after 33-34 years old... and there have been a helluva lot of others who have dried up at that age...the slightest drop in bat speed or reflexes and you are done...many players fall off the table approaching 35

HOF no prob for grif provided he stays healthy from here on out. 484 HR's and he's only 34. he still has a reasonable shot at 550 or even 600. how can you not put a guy with that many HR's in the HOF?

They had a stat in paper the other day and his last 3 years are pretty dismal due to injuries, I think his best year was like 13 HRs, 36 RBIs, sub-300. Again, I understand this is due to injuries. But if he has 3 more years like this in era of long-ball, I think it's borderline.

If he is healthy, it will be slam-dunk.

I think the better question now is: Is he a 1st ballot HOFer?

Hit #597 tonight. Not sure how much longer he plans on playing but it's not inconceivable that he could go over 650 and possibly make a run at 700. Also was no slouch in center before injuries started to bite him in the ass.

Griffey Jr. is arguably the most well-liked player of his generation. In his prime how many people were talking shit about him being overrated, etc, non-stop like all the A-Rod haters? Although A-Rod playing for the Yankees with a monstrous contract does set him up for more bashing. Anyways, off track...

Best baseball player I've ever seen. He gets in no question, 1st ballot.

1st ballot no question....

the only thing he can do to tarnish his career is to start taking steroids now to rejuvinate it or start gambling on his games.

HOF is a beauty pageant. As long as Pete Rose is not in WGAF?

I would say probable 1st ballot.

If he quit today he would be in the HOF..... not even close.
