Bulema-Taylor fight

I bet O6 1/2 rounds for the fight with a reputable sportsbook and they scored it a loss.
I read all the articles on ESPN.com - Yahoo.com -
CBSSportsline.com and they all said the fight ended at 2:16 of 7th round which means I won.
Sportsbook says the AP releases were incorrect.
Anybody see fight? How long did it last? Help!

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (AP) — Jermain Taylor retained his WBC Continental Americas middleweight championship Saturday night, stopping Alex Bunema in the seventh round.
Taylor (20-0, 15 knockouts) hit Bunema with six straight right hands, sending him to the canvas. After an eight-count, Taylor came back with two more crushing right hands, Bunema fell and referee Robert Gonzales stopped the fight 2:16 into the round.

After the fight, Bunema and his trainer Ray Frye suggested that Gonzales favored Taylor.

"I'm very disappointed," Bunema said. "I feel like the referee let me down. The referee should have given me a chance to fight, but I guess that was the plan for (Taylor) to win."

Taylor used his 5-inch height advantage and a prolific jab to keep Bunema (24-4-2) from ever hurting the Little Rock native. Bunema, the junior middleweight Continental Americas champion, looked like he might go the distance with Taylor before the flurry of rights in the seventh round.

However, Taylor didn't give him the chance in the seventh round.

"He never hurt me," Taylor said. "He headbutted me once over my right eye in a corner, but that was the only time he hit me hard."

March 28, 2004 - Is Jermaine Taylor the future of the middleweight division ? I'm not sure but he made a definite statement in halting Alex Bunema in seven one sided rounds. Only the courage of Bunema kept him around that long.
Although Taylor was the favorite Bunema was a competent opponent coming into this battle. In the end Taylor made Alex look like a second rate fighter. That was only because Jermaine looked that good !
Taylor's jab was a thing of beauty as he punished Bunema all night long with it. You could see it was just a matter of time before Taylor connected with the overhand right. He was trying to set it up throughout the fight.
The end came at 2:16 of the seventh after Alex had been down twice. No sense going on. He was outclassed and beaten.
Bunema drops to 24-4-2 while Taylor takes his unbeaten ledger to 20-0 with 15 KO's.
I heard someone say Taylor versus Tito. It might be a little soon for that but Jermaine Taylor has arrived !

Thanks for the response. I need as much ammunition as I can. The guy in the claims dept said he saw the fight and it ended very early in 7th round. Anybody who saw fight and can verify these press releases that it did go over 6 1/2 rounds please chime in.

The articles are incorrect. The fight ended with over 2 minutes left in the round. I watched it and have it on tape. They are correct that the under was the winner and the over was the loser.

That is what they meant. 1:30 had not gone by in the round. The fight ended with over 2 minutes REMAINING in the round.

No, because then he would be admitting that it went under. For him to win on the over it had to end after 1:30 was left in the round. Well, when it ended there was 2:16 left in the round. Hell, I still even had the tape in mky VCR just to double check. The articles are saying that over 2 minutes had passed which was incorrect. There was 2;16 remaining in the round.

I just got this info from Andrew Meadors, Taylor business advisor

fight was stopped late in the 7th round , with :44 seconds left in the round.

I did not see the fight - but I bet on the over under 6 1/2 rounds. The reason I am writing is with hope for someone to confirm whether it was over or under 6 1/2 can you help?
There are so many conflicting reports. The people who saw the fight seem to be saying it ended with 2:16 left in the round. The articles say 2:16 expired in the round before it was stopped. Great job last night vs Bunema, I believe you will grab one of the major titles very soon.

I do want to point out that I believe the fight was stopped at 2:16 of the seventh, not with 2:16 left in the round. Alot of my buddies took the over 6.5 rounds here, could you please fix your website to have the result read correctly if it is in error?

The press is wrong. The fight qas an under. I would like to believe it was an over, but they are incoorect. I needed OVER for my lungs booking and betting it, but it wasn't. Fight was stopped with well over 2mins remaining in the bout. EVERYONE that saw that knows. UNDER was paid at every casino and offshore boook that I know of. It will remain that way at OLY. Any book that reverses that dec deserves to go broke. These sites are wrong all the time. I dont evenb know where to strat w/ them posting incorrect info, but there is a thread at MadJacks about the same type of wrong info being posted.

LISTEN - I WATCHED THE FIGHT - HE KNOCKED OUT WITHIN SECONDS IN THE 7TH - HE GOT UP AFTER THE FIRST KNOCKOUT AND WAS BACK ON THE GROUND WITHIN 10 SECONDS - NO WAY IT WENT MORE THAN 1 MINUTE INTO THE 7TH - NOW WAY

I have been in a dispute with www.Jagbet.com for the past three weeks regarding my Under 6.5 rounds wager. At first I wasn't sure whether the fight actually went Under since AP got the time wrong and it went out everywhere as 2:16 of the round. Even Taylor's website (www.jermaintaylor.com) flip-flopped on the time. Jagbet told me that they needed a tape of the fight to change the grading, and I've been searching for one since then and found nothing. Neither has another player who had the same problem. By now I would think one would be out. I don't think Jag management reads the forums, but it appears to be the only way I can get this reversed. When I call sometimes they can't even seem to find my claim.

Overall my experience there has been good, they pay and are normally pretty good with customer service over the phone. Anyone have a tape? Maybe if alot of people call Jag they might come on the forum.
