For sure a bizarre game. 17 runs, both managers tossed, one umpire out sick, Cubs bat out of order and it ain't over.

I like the pitcher named "Ballfour", maybe it's "Balfour". I forget who he plays for.

off topic...but the best nicknames belong to the old Oriole reliever Dave (?) Stanhouse. Pitched in the '70s when guys had lots of hair sticking out of their caps. he was white, but had a red afro-looking thing going that made him look like Bozo. His nicknames: Stan the Man Unusual, and even better, Fullpack. he got that one 'cuz he was always pitching from behind, going deep into the count and putting guys on base, and it was said that he made Earl Weaver so nervous that Weaver would go through a "Full Pack" of cigarettes watching him pitch.

On an even crazier name note: there is a real life OB/GYN in the Northern Virginia area named Dr Harry Beaver. I also played baseball in high school against a guy named Ben Gay. What the hell were his parents thinking?

Don "Full Pack" Stanhouse won 38 games and lost 54 while pitching for 5 different teams (Balt. twice) from 1972 to 1982. At 6'3" hew was quite a sight with his afro sticking out of his cap.

Wonderful Terrific Monds was the players name.
I used to like Pork Chop Pough as well.
Ben Gay played running back at Ga. and briefly with the Cleveland Browns.
Love the Harry Beaver one, IF it is real.
I know I read about a dentist named Dr. Smiles.

But you still can't top my all-time favorite baseball name: Rusty Kuntz. (just toy with the incorrect pronunciation)
We used to think his baseball cards were pure gold!
