There are two teams that stand out here. In the AL, it has to be the Tigers. Their young pitching must have learned something from losing nearly 120 games last year while the veterans (Pudge, Vina, and White) have really stepped up. In the NL, it has to be the Marlins. This team received no respect in the offseason, but their pitching staff seems to be getting even better while Cabrera looking to become an upper echelon player. Any thoughts?

Houston. . .the pitching is every bit as good as we thought, but that offense has been very suprising to me. they seem to just be mowing teams down.

Mariners under 89 was a lock. Detroit is going to improve by at least 30 games over last year

Houston while not really a surprize is looking strong. With Wade Miller, Roy Oswalt, and Roger Clemons off to excellent starts they look like threat to run away with the NL Central, especailly if Andy Pettite comes back strong. Granted it is still early, but it looks to me like the Cubs will have to battle tooth and nail for every win this year.

The Astros lineup is stacked. No surprise to me that they are playing well. Got my Astros "Over 90.5 wins" wager in.

The Cubs have been a disaster. Playoffs no guarantee for them with Maddux getting shelled everytime out, Prior on the shelf, Baker mis-managing the ballclub.
