Two basically over at halftime games lose all of the fringe viewers, which is probably 95% of sampling this early. Stern has got to be crying with these duds. Better get some closer games or there will be another new low ratings record. Bad games are just unwatchable by the casual fan. You need that edge of your seat games, to keep the interest. Maybe it is because there are no good lower seeds in the Least. But still, two 20 point leads back to back is a disaster...OF
You are absolutely correct sir. Quality of play, especially fundamentals has falling way off. Hate to blame anyone, but the media glorifies slams and more slams. Rarely do you see a nice bounce pass, or a scoop like Cousy. That is why NBA has a slam dunk competition. Zone is probably the last straw, making so many unassisted scores. Not sure Stern has a clue of how to turn around the unwatchable quality of play. Close games keep you there for the outcome. Really saddens me as I finally gave up my season tickets. Best Wishes...OF
It is what it is. The Bird/Magic days are long gone. IMO, all series should be best of three except the finals, which would bring more interest and intensity to every game. Two months of playoffs is a bit much. Or maybe go the other way - have a one month reg-season, followed by six months of playoffs. I'm flexible.
