would have to side with Ricky Henderson on this one..

all time stolen base leader.
tremendously high on base percentage.
Walk leader on numerous occasions.
Leadoff homerun leader..

dont know what else anyone could have done better leading off games..

Pretty much a no-brainer for Ricky. I will mention Maury Wills in 1962 when he stole a then ML record 104 bases, and scored 130 runs batting .299 (208 hits) while starting every game a short for the Dodgers that year. Great single season for Wills.

Its Rock, not Tim, thank you. Big game tonight Sick, right there in your hometown. If this series goes to game 7 back in Boston the Habs will win it.

OMG, Ricky in a landslide.

Charlie Hustle is #2....He did what needed to be done which is lead off the game by getting on base more often than any other leadoff hitter but Ricky.

Or maybe Carl Crawford??...no, it's Ricky..yeah.

Cobb was not always a leadoff man.

R Henderson's stolen base record is safer than Joe d's 56 game hitting streak.

...just kidding

Seriously , Rickey Henderson , no one really comes close, how many times did Rickey walk, steal second and third and score on a ground out or sac fly, the guy was 'instant 1-0' after 3 batters...Or he would lead off the game and go deep...He is very underrated IMO!

...I would think Ty Cobb was by far the best in his day...

Rickey's obviously the best, and he's still underrated!

All-time walk leader (for now, here comes Barry)
All-time stolen base leader
All-time runs scored leader
3,000 hits

By the way, remember that dramatic 3000 hit chase? No? Because few people cared. I'll bet you remember the dramatic 3000 hit chases of Gwynn, Ripken, and Boggs though, huh?

I guess the media showed him...

Rickey..Rickey likes Rickey..Rickey likes Rickey as best leadoff Rickey of all-time!

The Jim Rome Show has had some of the most hilarious Rickey Henderson stories ever.

Tony Gwynn's tales of RH had me ROLTFMAO in one interview.
