Went to Fenway park last night for the first time since 1977 when I was a kid, right before we moved to Florida.

If you like the Yankees and want to attend a game there this weekend, trust me, don't wear any Yankees stuff. You will have serious problems. A guy last night wore a yankees cap. He was lucky not to have been beaten up. As it was, he got away with a warning- which was being screamed at by drunks all game ( every name in the book) and having everything imaginable thrown at him. Also, his yankee hat was ripped off his head and thrown into center field in the seventh inning. And this guy never talked any crap Yankees suck chants happened so often I could'nt count andthe opponent was the Orioles.

People in Boston are REALLY, REALLY,REALLY pissed at the yankees now after the playoffs last year. Its going to be an ugly weekend in the stands.

Some shirts for sale last night- Jersey which looks like a Yankees jersey, says Yankees Suck on front and #13 on back with the name GAY ROD.

Also a t-shirt JETER SUCKS A ROD.

Fenway is amazing. Its so small. What a great park, can't wait to get back.

Like Wakefield +132 tonight at home, with the crowd and revenge on the minds of everyone. Of course, this game won't matter in the long haul, but I expect Boston to play like is game 8. New York knows better, but for the gamblers among us....EDGE Boston +132.

Its really a shame to read that people could get hurt at a baseball game for liking the wrong team. People caught committing these assaults should be punished accordingly. Whatever happened to good sportsmanship?

I'd agree that anyone should be left alone who simply wears team colors to a game.

the guy last night was with a girl who had a red sox hat and jacket on- and that did'nt even save him.

he was a college kid and the people haranguing him were also college kids. there are 5 or 6 colleges right around the park and a lot of drunk college students were in the bleachers.

to be fair to my fellow red sox fans- its just an anti-yankee thing. their was a guy near me with an Orioles cap on and no one bothered him one bit all night.

The Yankees are just not terribly popular with drunken Red Sox fans.

I saw a game from the bleachers at Wrigley last near, now those poeple are crazy. they wanted to beat up the usher, other cubs fans, the cubs left fielder cause he sucked and especially the Pirates left fielder. Seriously- that "Friendly Confines" stuff is bull shit. Who ever came up with that never played the outfield for an opposing team. That game was really wild. Cubs fans are really angry and this was pre-bartman.

It was a ton of fun though and their were no actual beatings at either place. Some Yankee fans will be getting beat up at Fenway tonight though, no question.

The way Boston is playing they have ABSOLUTELY NO SHOT at winning tonight! Hell I like the Yankees for a sweep! Yankee hitters vs, Red Sox hitters no doubt a Yankee plus! Yankee bullpen suspect but BOSTON'S SUCK'S!

I've seen Yankees vs Red Sox games in both Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium.

At Fenway, the Sox fans just hate the Yankee fans with a passion. If you sit in the good seats with a Yankee hat or shirt, you might just get a few wise cracks or something. In the bleachers, you'll probably get stuff thrown at you sooner or later. And after how frustrating and depressed Sox fans were after Game 7 of the ALCS last year, it will only be worse.

At Yankee Stadium, Yankees fans could care less about the Sox fans who show up there. They just don't even care. Even in some bars just outside the stadium in the middle of Harlem, Sox fans are never given any trouble.

Yea, Fish makes a good point there, how soon we forget. I feel pretty good with the public getting down on the Yanks. Remember guys baseball lines are not overly if really at all influenced by the public. The public does not usually play this game. Bases lines are seldom square driven except for the public teams.

Tonight is the ultimate public team with ultimate TV hype. Many folks out there in television land will have or will be making their first baseball bet of the season with all the hype the network is giving this game. On top of that it's 6 pack Friday night. Makes sense to me. The public which maybe has seen a game or two can't imagine which Yank can possibly make an out.

I have a question though. The forecast says there is about a 15 mph wind from the NE. It is supposed to be a southerly breeze not much but maybe 10 mph later this evening. Dead air would not be good. If memory serves me right that would mean the wind is blowing in now but this evening will be at least a gentle breeze blowing out. I believe I'm right. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As most of you know but some don't, a knuckleball thrown into the wind, even a gentle breeze, will have it's movement accentuated. Also if Wakefield has it working and is effective he can easily go at least 7. The strain on the arm is minimal. Also the shorter the swing the better the success against this pitch. Sluggers are generally more susceptible to it.

The Yanks may very well win this game. But please, this is a live dog at the very least. 41-17 home night last year. I said nothing about the crowd did I?

Looks like the Yanks are getting all the money. Line opened at -125 now up to the mid 140's in most stores.

EZ money tonight. I thought that was one of those few games that are SO EASY to pick. Red Sox just getting too much. then people bet up the Yankees? LOL.

Then I look at tomarrow and Shilling v. Mussina ( Mr. 8.93) and Bos is only -132?????

HUH?

Is this a joke? Bos wants revenge, fans want blood, their home with Schilling and their only -132 against a struggling pitcher? Plus, as much as I fear that Yankee offense, look at their batting averages. The whole team is slumping. Do they break out against Shilling? I don't think so. Does Mussina turn it around? Maybe, maybe not. Looks like a big edge to Boston tomarrow.

Maybe since I'm a Red Sox fan I'm seeing things in these two games. Tonight looked super EZ to pick, tomarrow is easier.
