I gave up a 3 run homerun in game 4 of the 1970 WS to Lee May in the 8th inning, to ruin my teams chance of sweeping the Reds, we won the next game... so it goes

I always suspected you were one of Orioles' four 20game winners that Bucs took care of in '71.

Ya know, I have a ball with all four 20 game winners on it still to this day...the names were printed on though, probably worth $1.85

I had every baseball card Topps made from 1956 through 1976. They were ruined in a massive flood in 1977. My mom didn't think they were important enough to grab.

I am very familiar with almost all Oriole teams. I almost asked you if you were Elrod Hendricks.

I almost said Elrod haha...

Thats a shame about those cards man...I had my share , I started with the 1969 set (the grey border) my Uncle got it for me the first summer of my life...it was very special to me personally...I even went back years later and bought it again....and years later I sold all my cards like a dumbass, this was all a long time ago now...Collecting cards by the pack was the way to go back in the day!

I caught Bonds' 3rd homer in majors(6/9/86) and I would trade it in a seccond for anything from Clemente/Stargell/Cash/Hebner/Oliver/Blass/or anybody from '71 (or '79) Bucs. Great time to be growing up in Pittsburgh!
Sorry it had to be your O's but they had their share against Reds and team from part of Pa. most hope will seceed but never does('83).

I have a 1979 WS Ball to this day...

...also at that series I got another ball signed with Stargell,Parker, Frank and Brooks on it...Willie only signed his last name though...

BTW, the Orioles were the better team both times they lost to Pittsburgh lol!
Between the Colts being drubbed by the Steelers and those two devastating WS defeats , Pittsburgh has had Baltimore`s number..

I am a huge Steelers fan though...I use to root very quietly when I was a kid with my father a diehard Colts fan in the room

Frank Robby was a coach and Brooks was there in street clothes near the O`s dugout before the game....We had gotten down at the stadium for game 6 at like 4 pm...we walked right in as the gates were open, we also proceeded to walk right onto the field ( I swear to God) the pitchers were all taking BP...It was a media circu all around the foul territory, Howard Cosell was out there doing taped interviews etc...and we just fit right in amongst the masses...
I got my WS ball by hanging out behind the batting cage...I had two WS balls but Jim Frey made me give one back lol...I remember him saying 'hey Charlie, I need that ball back as I stuck it in my jacket'

Even Frank Robinson was ammused, when I asked for his autograph he looked at me and asked me how I had gotten on the field, and Frank wasn`t smiling when he asked me....I didn`t know what to say, I mean I couldn`t lie to FRANK ROBINSON, so I just told him...Frank just chuckled, signed my ball and said something like "great security we have here" I will never forget that one

I fear Steelers are in for a hard time again this year. Hope I'm wrong but Ravens look dominant in the division
