parlay to help you out if both teams crap out?

For example today I took a two team parlay with the Angels -143 and the Red Sox -150 or so.
I took this for $350

Then I took the Angels in a straight wager risking $300

I then took a two team parlay with the Blue Jays +135 and the Rangers +125....
I took this one for $150 to make $760 or so

So overall if the Blue Jays win now..I'll be up $110 where I otherwise would have lost my as$..

Does anyone else ever do this if you take good favs and the underdogs are both fairly decently priced?

I know it's not always the way to go...but I always seem to make out when I do go for it..

I figure if shit is going to happen...it better really happen...lol..

The payout is just so high...that if I wager enough on the favs....I take it as a "copout"..

Just wondering if anyone else does it.

Sometimes I get some nice odds with a local who only accepts parlays. I may buy some insurance as a straight wager on the team I thought was the worst bet of the parlay (so the insurance itself is not a bad bet). But I would never insure a parlay with another parlay. That's almost like playing Keno.
