Will Barry Bonds Catch and Pass Babe Ruth This Year?

Will Barry Bonds hit 57 Homers this year to move from 4th on the all-time list to 2nd. passing both Willie Mays, and Babe Ruth?

Bonds had 658 homers to start the season, he hit one last night to bring him within one of his godfather Willie Mays. He needs a total of 57 round trippers to reach the Babe's once magic total of 714. Hank Arron is the all time leader with 755 home runs.

It is sad that when it is all said and done that this guy will be #1 on homers, and also #1 in arrogance. I wish it would have happened to a nice person like a Cal Ripken jr. Oh well.

it doesn't matter if he passes ruth. ruth is insignificant because he didn't face black pitchers. all of ruth's records are meaningless.

its mays, then aaron. in another week, the top three homerun hitters of all time will be black men.

All those guys you mentioned did suck. There are/were some pretty bad white guys too. Dave Eiland comes to mind real quick. Ed Whitson too.

Bonds is an arrogant SOB but his bat quickness roids or no roids is unreal.

Reggie Jackson said it best. The year he hit 73 if he would of been pitched to he would of hit 100.

If roids had never been invented, Bonds would still be one of the greatest (if not the greatest) all around players in baseball history. The man would have been the only 500/500 player for sure. In fact, w/o roids he might have been 600/600!
I hate to say this as I know what an arrogant poor excuse for a human being he has always been having seen him plenty in his first 7 years in Pittsburgh and how he has treated fellow players and fans and most importantly kids asking for autographs.

Ruth didnt play against blacks but back when he played every kid in America grew up playing baseball, today that is simply not true not to mention there were half as many teams so that argument is a load of crap
