don't you think if barry bonds was not on roids, he would just go against the union and take the test.

i mean come on, bonds is the one player that can do this, he is the one player who is bigger than the baseball union. not to mention the unbelieveable pub he would get from the media and public.

and an ego manic like him would do it to. just to stick it to everyone who said he was.

plus, how quickly would bonds become one of the most admired player in sports.

but the problem is he is on 'roids.

If the baseball players union wouldn't let AROD take a pay cut to play for Boston there is no chance they let Bonds take that test. "Union" stands for the group not the individual.

you think bonds gives a damn about what the union thinks or says?

bonds is an ego manic and if he could prove these records are legit he would.

i mean who really believes bonds is not on 'roids, but is just refusing public testing because he doesn't want to pressure anyone else to get tested, or to go against the union.

that doesn't sound like the bonds people no.

and i don't believe the before and after pictures of bonds proves he is on 'roids. take a look at the pictures of 20 something michael jordan and 40 mike, you think he took 'roids? of course not.

Bonds is on roids, his association with the Balco guy sealed it for me.

I still consider him a great player but his 73 home run season will always be tainted in my mind.

Blue, no one wants to bring that up that the "great" Michael Jordan would use juice. But the realm of possibility is endless.

I watched the movie 61 last night on HBO. There are some real life shots of McGuire hitting his 62nd homer to break Roger Maris' record, he was HUGE. I am pretty sure most have already seen the movie, but if you have not give it a try. Directed by Billy Crystal, good movie, and accurate account of the wild baseball summer of 1961.

NEW YORK - Hank Aaron's admiration for Barry Bonds won't be tarnished if it's proven that the San Francisco slugger used steroids, baseball's all-time home run king told The New York Times in a story for Wednesday's editions.

Aaron said he would "let the public judge for themselves," whether Bonds' records should be tainted.

"I'm just hoping and praying nothing comes up," Aaron told the newspaper. "I admire Barry Bonds. Steroids or no steroids, he would have had a Hall of Fame career."

Aaron, who set the major league record with his 715th homer 30 years ago Thursday, will be honored at the Braves' game that night.

Bonds is fourth on the career list with 659 home runs, one behind Willie Mays. After Aaron broke Babe Ruth's record, he went on to finish with 755 career homers.

"Barry Bonds has done everything — hit home runs, steal bases, hit for average. He's practically carried his ballclub on his back," Aaron said.

If Aaron had to pick his favorite modern player, though, Bonds wouldn't be it.

"If you put all of today's best players in a room, my first choice would be Alex Rodriguez," Aaron told the newspaper. "He carries a little more weight in the locker room because everybody likes him, but Barry Bonds has been everything you want in a ballplayer."
