Through all the years Ive been wagering on sports, I've seen people talk about it, or simply seen their plays posted, lose and lose, until the streak has reached 6, 7, and sometimes more than 10, losses in a row. I always thought to myself, "How could that happen to anyone at all that knows anything about the specific sports they are betting on?Heck, even if you don't know a thing about sports, if you basically flipped a coin and chose a side, surely you wouldn't lose this many in a row." Well, it's happened to me, in the span of the last 3 nights, and I'm completly baffled and now second guessing every wager I make! Ok, I know some of you have been here, so tell me what I need to do to get my head straight again and not be afraid to pull the trigger on a side without changing it at least once before reaching a final decision, and get back to the winning ways............

Don't change anything you do. You're winning ways will happen again. Make every bet like you're even - don't think about losses or wins.

Like the saying in Vegas goes "The cards have no memory, the dice have no memory", etc. Same thing with sports betting.

Actually if you flipped a coin and chose the same side for long enough you surely would lose 6 or 7 in a row....and it wouldn't take that long for it to happen. If you've been betting for years and never lost 6 or 7 in a row, then you are very....very good. Unless you really think you are doing something differently in the last 3 days than you had been in your successful past, then don't sweat it and don't second-guess yourself.

I had a great year two years ago followed my the exact opposite over the past year....Finally I have gotten hot again Hache..It had me to the point I felt like no matter what I did I couldn`t win anymore...its very humbling...I mean I lost every which way, football games being called in the third qtr. Losing totals in OT, buzzer beaters, just everything kept going against me....Finally I said screw it just either quit or dig into the reserves and battle back...Of course I dug into the reserves lol...But have been hot ever since!

Nothing you can do but ride it out Hache...Could you give your plays over the next couple weeks, I think you may be due for a 12-5 run Hache...Who are you on?

Thanks for the responses and advice guys. D2bets, this is honestly my first time every losing this many games in a row from years and years of this. I suppose that's why it always baffled me and I couldnt figure out how someone could lose so many games in a row. Im sure it has more to do with being lucky than "that good", as you say, to not lose more than that in a row after all of this time. Im afraid that it may have something to do with that fact that until the beginning of this week, I have been laying off, only betting on a couple games in the last 3 weeks. I havent been following the NBA like I always have in that time~span due to several reasons and things I had to take care of........My gosh I hope that little layoff hasn't turned me for the worst permantely

Hache-
Ok friend, heres the deal.

Your going to have to find a way to get to SELMONS, or I am going to have come over to Orlando.

We need to discuss a few things.

I may be in Orlando next Friday between 5-7pm.

Will be close to the FLORIDA MALL area.

ps- Seven losses in a row is NOTHING!!!

Fish, you probably forgot, but Im not exactly in Orlando anymore, closer to Polk County. I promise you Im coming, Ive just had so much going on the last few weeks, as I mentioned above, thats why I hadnt been wagering much at all or following the NBA as I normally did until just starting back this week. Fish, 7 losses in a row is a lot for someone who hasn't experienced it!

Earlier today, I was riding down the road, and thought about it again, and I just began laughing!

Im dead serious, I honestly couldnt believe it, was actually funny when I thought about it. Im still surprised at the responses by some that say this isnt unusual. I must of been one of the lucky ones throughout the years I suppose.......

Went 1-10 one day last summer. It was just a bad day. Went 9-2 the next day and 6-1 the day after.
If you are concerned, lower the unit level for a few days or just concentrate on your 1 best play until its over

Hache- What city do you live by that I would be familar with?

PS- Think about this Hache.

A 55% winning percentage is a the mark of a VERY GOOD handicapper.

Equate this to a baseball team.

If a team wins 55% of their games, they will finish at 89-73.

How many teams in the history of baseball has a team finished with 89+ wins in a 162 game schedule and lost 7 in a row sometime during the course of the season???

The answer.........MANY!!

I would venture to say in my 20+ years of handicapping that I am somewhere in the neighborhood of 54-57% picking winners lifetime betting thousands of games.

Remember one occassion where I lost 16-19 some odd games in a row!!!

It means NOTHING!!

In this for the VERY LONGHAUL, as well you or anybody else should be too.
