Look at the NHL playoff lineup. Two LA teams, the main draw from New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, DC, Phoenix...all not going to be in the playoffs. All the Canadian teams are in, except Edmonton. They are getting bumped by Nashville which has to be the least appealing team in the whole thing. I mean lots of good teams in there, especially the popular teams of the last few years, but the NHL will never pick up extra viewers with this lineup. Canadian men will watch the playoffs no matter who is playing so having them all in is bad news for fan interest, especially the US TV ratings. Going into the lockout just makes it worse. I would be crying if I were commish too...

Oh well, let the games begin. I can't wait to see playoff hockey on every night. Some people live for the NCAA Dance, but I just love getting an NHL playoff game nightly and for intermission and commercials I get to flip over and see NBA playoffs. Who even bothers watching baseball this time of year???

nothing beats NHL hockey where you have games every night for almost 2 months. The only thing that gives it a run for its money is baseball playoffs. Forget NFL playoffs, or NBA playoffs or even March Madness. Hockey in April, May and June is awesome. How can you not love the sudden death overtime where you are 1 shot away from winning or losing. Is there anything more exciting in sports than sudden death overtime in hockey? And 1 of every 3 games go into OT in the playoffs.

I will be watching the Habs the closest. I don't want to see these frenchmen in this city going to crazy. I hate these guys. Plus, the real reason I want the Habs to go down is because if they go too far in the playoffs, it will kill the Expos attendance because if the Habs are playing that night, NOBODY will show up at the stadium, and the last thing I want to see is an empty olympic stadium. Even if the Spos are 22-4 in May, there will ONLY be 3,000 fans at an Expo game if the Habs are playing on tv and are far in the playoffs. The frenchmen love their habs here and couldn't care less about my spos.

So I hope the Habs are eliminated soon because the spos are my baby, not the habs. Go Expos..

Gary Bettman is better than Gil Stein was, but what am I really saying? I don't really care who is in the playoffs because I will watch them anyway. Since the Blackhawks are not in (what a joke of a team), I will be voting for all the Canadian teams, and against Detroit, Nashville, Philly, and TB.

SickGambler,
Does Rugby have sudden death overtime? Dont watch the sport but assume it would be just as exciting since bascially 3rd period and OT is basically each teams top lines tying to score while 3rd line 30 year old semi-athletic white guys clutch and grab any way possible to stop the few talented players. Then they have line changes and the roles are reversed until some team gets lucky and one of their shots deflects off the defensemans skate for the game winner.

Sorry for the rant, just frustrated of what hockey has become over the years.

Gary Bettman is a waste of oxygen! That smelly little runt reminds me of the morons and blowhards running our Canadian government!
