Something continues to baffle me about the Site Promotions section. I can see people being allowed to advertise sites pertaining to , for example, service selections, sportsbooks, heck, even people just trying to sell stuff to make a buck.......BUT, when people start advertising other forums, where they are basically trying to take posters/members away from here at TheRX, I wonder why it is allowed. Shouldn't there be some stipulations when it comes to this?

Hache - A lot depends on the context. Blantant ads for another web-site (that happened to be a forum) with a link will always be sent to site promotions. Other posts where other forums are only mentioned, but not promoted or linked is something else. Posters will post things like I saw this at so and so's site, or I saw that at so and so's site in the context of a normal reply to a topic. These are difficult to edit, or move because of censorship issues. I never like to be seen as censoring anyone, therefore must use caution before moving or editing posts.

now what he meant wil. he means why do the posts in the site promotions, which solicit readers to other forums remain in the site promotions? he's not asking about posts in the sports forums...

ID - thanks, my mistake. Contrary to popular belief, the moderators never delete any threads, at least I never have. Any thread that is an advertisement for another Forum simply gets sent to site promotions by rule. All posters are free to read any promos, and use them if they care to.

Sorry Wil, I made it a little confusing I guess, but Identity got what I meant. Several of those threads in that section basically try to persuade RX'ers to visit other forums such as this, they just use other excuses or means necessary to do it. I'm just surprised TheRx allows this is all.....

I think it just shows confidence on the part of the Rx. Feel free to check out any other site because we're confident you'll end up back here anyway.
