BATON ROUGE, La. - The Louisiana Lottery Corp. has stopped sales of three scratch-off games because numbers supposed to be hidden could be read without scratching off anything.

The Louisiana Boil, Extra Free Spot Bingo and Winning Combinations games all had the problem, the company said in a news release Monday.
It said sales of Winning Combinations were halted Thursday after lottery workers realized that the numbers were visible through the latex scratch-off coating.
Lottery President Randy Davis ordered the printer to re-examine all current games and all tickets printed since Jan. 1, and a defect which could cause the same problem was found.

The news release quoted the printer, which it did not identify, as saying the problem was one which developed over time, and was not immediately noticeable.
As of March 1, the vendor has changed its printing process, and no tickets printed since then have shown signs of the problem, the lottery corporation said.
It said it has stopped sales of $2 Blackjack tickets because they don't specify that aces only count as "high," equal to 11.
"This could cause confusion," it said, since the card game lets players use aces as either 11 or 1.
It said lottery scratch-offs always have used aces only as 11s.
"We're ending this game because we do not want to knowingly confuse or disappoint players," said Davis.
The Lottery plans to launch another Bingo-style game around the end of April to replace the Blackjack game.

Unreal........I remember when I was a kid, there was some kind of contest out that had scratch offs. Every other ticket was a winner, but the catch was you had several spaces you could scratch off, but could only scratch off one and had to hit the winning area in one try. Cant remember how I learned it, but me and a friend found out you could take the ticket and stick a small flashlight under it in a darker area/room and could see through where the winning part was.

Wasn't long before everyone was doing it and they started making them thicker........
