As much as I hate the Yankees, I think I would get a NY tattoo if it meant that Duke would never go to the Final Four again. I just can't stand them, especially Coach K.

Would probably believe that alot of people share your same sentiments.

I fit into that category a little bit, but not overly such.

I like what Coach K says about fear...He said he was born a poor polish immigrant, and the fear of being poor again motivates him!

I like that kind of motivational talk, its good to fear where you`ve been and remember where you`re at and how you worked to get there, and how you want to stay there and not go back! That should be on everyone`s bulletin board IMO! Basically a friendly humble reminder to stay hungry and appreciate

It crushed me to see my beloved Illini bow out to Duke. But it seems like they've broken my heart so many times, when I was rooting for the other team. Yesterday, I won a good chunk of change on Xavier, but was still upset to see them lose to Duke. And that Kentucky game in 1992. How many of us were pulling strongly for UK in that one? Everyone I know was. Duke is a bunch of winners, none more so than Coach K. But I'm just sick of them. Stop giving Duhon a BJ, talking about his bruised ribs. They even found a way to mention him in the GA Tech segment, saying Jarret Jack was his cousin. And Tell Bilas to just shut up.

I have always thought the Dukie players come off as 'arrogant' and 'above' the other teams, its probably partly just perception on my part. LOL, they have had their share of those type of players though.. Alot of white ball players too.. Laettner, Hurley,WoJo, Ferry, Bilas, Alarie,Collins,Reddick, even back to Gminski and Jim Spanarkel, thats alot of white boys considering...

For the longest time though, the Duke players weren`t making much impact in the NBA, alot of NBA lemons from Duke, maybe that just shows how good Coach K really is...Remember when the Celtics wanted him?

Some NBA busts; Laettner(big disappointmet), Hurley(bust), Ferry(total bust), Dawkins(semi bust)Grant Hill(injured bust) so there is some solace I guess.

Anyone that think Coach K can't recruit and coach doesn't have a clue. Duke has some of the highest entrance requirements in the country and to continually win with less talent ( as evidenced by the lack of Duke graduates that are NBA superstars ) just shows what an outstanding job he does. But do I like them? No.... and I hate the Yankees too.

Journeyman,
I played highjschool ball against Jim Spanarkel and Mike Okoren! They were great highschool players! No cocky attitudes. Must of developed their attitudes in COLLEGE! Hell Jim Sparnarkel was the best HIGH SCHOOL PITCHER IN BASEBALL I've ever seen! He beat us in the county Championship in 1974 when I played for North Bergen and he playede for Hudson Catholic. Wish he'd play Pro baseball instead!

let's see.

Duke players usually graduate.
They all go to class or they get tossed
Generally no tatoos
no wild ricky williams hair doos
lately a lot of them have left early and he still wins in a tough ACC league.
JJ Reddick is the only Duke player I remember
that acts like a cock and I bet Coach K changes that soon.

I see why everyone hates them.

The world would be a whole lot better if everyone

I met coach K in the steam room at Caesar's palace about 5 years ago, and he was the most egoless, polite guy i have ever met. Hard to see how people could hate him or his teams.

Journeyman,
Spanarkle pitched a one hitter and our pitcher pitched a two hitter! We lost 1-0 to Spanarkle! I went 0-3 with a astrikeout! Spanarkle had a curve that made a rightie pull out of the batters box and a fastball in the high 80's! Okoren was a decent player at North Carolina hated to see him leave as Nets assistant! Enjoyed talking to him when I went to Nets games!

Max1234- You have to be kidding me, or were you being sarcastic? Duke has more talent than any other team in the nation year in year out. Look at this, here are the player rankings of when they were a senior in high school. From RSCI(which averages 5 ratings)

Duhon #6-highest player left from that class
Ewing #29
Williams #8
Reddick #11
Randolph #14
Dockery #21
Thompson #30-this guy transferred midseason
Deng #2-Top incoming Freshman

At the start of the season Duke had 8 McDonalds All Americans on their roster, now they have 7, they have more talent than anyone year in and year out, the Xavier team they beat had 3 top 100 players all ranked lower than 70 I believe. Also a few years ago in one class they had #3, #8, #16, #26(that was Williams Boozer, Sanders, and Dunleavy) Duke has insane talent.

UConn

Brown #10
Gordon #41
Okafor #99
Anderson #24
Villanuva #6
Williams #48
Boone #95
