Did anyone else enjoy this movie as much as I did? Great story with marvelous interaction between scamster Frank Abagnale (played by DiCaprio) and fed Carl Hanratty (tom Hanks). Fast moving, always entertaining and with a great cast which also featured Martin Sheen and Christopher Walken (my fave), while Spielberg did the directing. What a classy movie. And when did Hanks become one of the greatest actors of all time? He's absolutely fantastic in every role he takes on.

Me too. Somehow it gets better everytime you see it.

And I like the surprise ending too. Really cool. And it's a true story! I saw a documentary on the making of that film. They had the man Frank Abagnale, Jr. on there. And how about those late '60's clothes everyone had on? The woman in charge of wardrobe said she went through every second-hand store in and around Hollywood to put it together.

in reality, that dude must have been so much smarter than the movie makes him look. to get everyone to believe you are a doctor and an attorney? and, to fly around the world as a "dead-head" for 3 years without getting caught?

Good movie but a really great book. There was so much more that he did and endured. Couple of things he actually dated a girl because her father was in the paper making business for bank checks and he used that to further "authenticate" his checks. Also, there was much more to his prison time. I know he served time in more jails than the movie portrayed and was even released to a half way house in germany maybe, but while there he lived great and got friendly with a judge who would eventually allow him to be extradited back to the US to avoid being sent to another country with extremely harsh prisons. If you liked the movie you should also read the book you will love it and it is a very easy read. There was so much more to his real escapades that even having seen the movie you will be entertained by the real adventures.

That is usually the case with good books that become movies. Natrually is is easier to describe an event in words than in real images. Sounds like a good read, I will give it a try, thanks.

RPM - Tom Hanks actually got his first break 20 years ago, landing the male lead in the movie "Splash", directed by Ron Howard, with John Candy. He falls in love with a mermaid, played by a then equally unknown Daryl Hannah. Pretty funny in an offbeat kind of way.

And he was doing all this at the age of 17! He was way ahead of his time.

"Frank...how did you cheat on the Louisiana bar exam?"

"I didn't. I studied for two weeks and I passed."

He was extremely intelligent.

Sweet Jesus, I didn't know there was a book. I definately have to read that now.

I saw "A Beautiful Mind" with Russell Crowe portraying math genius John Nash, Jr. I found the movie very intriguing, interesting. Then I read the book. The book "A Beautiful Mind" was nothing like the movie. Sylvia Nasar's exhaustive look into the life of this Nobel Prize winner casts him in a very unflattering light. You quickly learn that while he was one of the great mathematical minds on the planet, he had a social IQ of about 10, and had very destructive effects on the lives of those closest to him, including his wife who divorced him and his illegitimate son (no mention in the movie) for which Nash took absolutely no responsiblity for. He was a latent homosexual as well. Anyways, the story with Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connolly seemed more romantic, so I guess they decided to go that route. Nash never saw imaginary people either, and the movie was largely based on that concept. To me, that was disappointing.

Always gotta remember that motion pictures are a business first, artform second and documenter of historical facts third.

I loved CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and there is a similar soncept that just had a deal made last week. It is called THE RETURN OF SUPERFLY and it is about a heroin kingpin from NYC and the investigator who finally caught him. Now they are great friends and they do anti-drug work together.

Movie on teen drug empire
NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) -- The story of William Wright, a seemingly perfect National Merit Scholar and promising high school athlete who raked in $70 million dealing narcotics, is coming to the big screen.

Los Angeles-based indie banner FilmEngine is teaming with producers Giovanni Agnelli and Scott Bloom to develop a feature based on Wright's life.

While Wright was a high school academic and athletic star in Washington state -- where he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners -- he also was the mastermind of an international drug ring and money-laundering operation by age 17. Caught in a sting operation, Wright was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and served eight before being released last year at age 26.

FilmEngine producing partner Tyler Mitchell said, "Will's story is absolutely unbelievable. At 16, he somehow created an international drug cartel while leading the state of Washington in rushing yards for his high school football team, acing his classes and going on field trips."

Bloom added, "Will is Frank Abagnale, Tony Montana and Joe Montana rolled into one
