Definately a little low. As per SBR a D means "Poor, some risk to players funds. Poor customer service, ect". I would argue I have had favourable service and believe they have a long history of no payment problems which would indicate that your funds are fairly safe.

A solid out from what I have experienced.

If a book pays and doesn`t play games with the payouts thats got to be first and foremost...I have read of an occasional isolated incident here and there ( of a monor couple days slow pay) but Jake is always quick to fix it here...

I think they should atleast be a C+ and I am only judging that by what the readers of TheRx have said...

Slash- why do you say that< I have seen you on more than one occasion killing these guys...why is it?

I think Slash has nothing better to do than lurk around the RX looking for any chance to bash Sportbet have you ever seen Jake not take care of any problem with a payout or any other type of problem quickly there isnt a better guy in this sometimes seddy buiness out there

Why is it that Jake has to assist in every payout?? How come players get the runaround until they post on these forums? Why are the people complaining told to call Jake for assistance? Why is that necessary?

To Jake's defence it seems they have nothing to do with ibet, getabet and some of the other slow pay sites anymore. At least that's what he claims.

And of course I don't like Jake/Sportbet because they tried to cheat me out of 2 dimes but that's an old story.

JM;

In SBR's Rating guide Sportbet is a solid D.

quote:
D- to D+ Poor, some risk to players funds. Poor customer service, ect

Sportbet is a book that was established from the very dawn of this industry. Other shops that started after them, have surpassed them by a lot. Why is it that SportBet can't grow?Well, the owners are well known in Costa Rica for not having the slightest idea of how to run a profitable business. If you're looking to maximize your profit, you don't go around splurging players' post-up funds buying condos in Los Sueños Marina and fancy sport cars, just to end up in a tight spot somewhere along the road.

I asked Will about Jake, he said Jake is a great guy, honest and hard working. I choose to believe him; but it's not about Jake (he doesn't seem like a good manager to me, a great forum voiuce perhaps), it's about the men that have to make the calls when all is said and done.

Facts?

The owners of Sportbet are family with the owners of books like PlayersBet, GoToCasino and BetWorldWide. Where are these books now?
I believe at least 2 of those 3 books were "top notch shops" vouched for by the owner of this site.

There were big players in this industry looking to buy SportBet, they turned the deal down as there was little value to that buy (their words) and we're talking about 2 weeks ago. I have nothing against Jake. But it's worrisome when it takes the GM of the company to process a simple payout.

Slash made some very valid questions:

quote:
Why is it that Jake has to assist in every payout?? How come players get the runaround until they post on these forums? Why are the people complaining told to call Jake for assistance? Why is that necessary?

There's no need for the GMs of Pinnacle, VIP, BetWWTS, CRIS, Hollywood and the other recommended books in SBR's top 10 list to come in the forums to process a payout and get business taken care of. That's why, JM. I don't think that's harsh. I think I have a very valid point. Besides, that's only my opinion, what are you so worried about it?

buzz,

i agree sportbet leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to customer service. but so does oly in my opinion.

i think players are SAFE playing there. i have had an account there for a long time, and have never had a problem getting paid.

a couple of things

1. i never thought the fact that they were one of the first and still have not blossomed into the book they should be.

2. owners can definitely spend money better than they can grow a book.

3. jake doesn't have to assist in every payout. I'll give a high figure of 50 payouts assisted. I would think they have made more than 50 payouts.

4. deal was turned down because they wanted waaaaaaaaaaay too much money for the place. essentially all you are buying is the name. most players would have been dupes anyway.

5. jake would be and is an excellent man to have in ur shop wether you want to grow it from the ground up or continue at a cruising speed in front of the rest. all you have to do is give him the freedom to do it. he can make the decesions and he has the ideas he just can't get them past dumm azz peeps that haven't a clue of the biz.

I would particularly agree with the "dumm azz peeps that haven't a clue of the biz" part.

Buzz,

Thank you for finally answering this question. I have waited quite some time to hear your response. I am not sure how you are in a position to judge me as a manager, as you have never been in my office, you might have spoken to me once, and I doubt you have gotten feedback from employees who currently work for me. However, if you go by heresay, then you can make a judgement.

As for Sportbet. I will say it for the MILLIONTH time...we have NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH, ZERO, NIL, to do with Goto or PlayersBet. They do not operate in our building, do not use our call center, do not use our software, do not use our banks/bank accounts, and basically HAVE NOTHING TO DO with Sportbet.com

As for you siding with Slash...LMFAO. Do you know his whole story? The only times you hear about me getting involved is when it is brought to the forums and the only time that happens (ok, maybe 99.99% of the time) is when it is due to a scammer, bonus whore, or person manipulating our policies in one way or another.

Now..basically, you have us at a D rating because:

-You believe players post up money is spent, because the owners bought a sports car (not plural) and a condo. You have no proof to that at all...none, whatsoever, however.

-We turned down a deal from "big players in this industry". Well, why is that? If Sportbet is a D, why would they be interested in us at all? Better question still...why did we turn the deal down?

AND THAT IS IT?? LOLOLOLOL.

Basically:

-Sportbet pays
-Sportbet offers good CS
-Sportbet offers excellent bonuses and weekly promotions
-Sportbet has continuously offered bailout programs for less fortunate players
-Sportbet has been in the industry from the beginning

Add it all up and you get: D rating at SBR. God bless you, sir, and your wild, wacky reasoning.

FWIW, I am not looking to be on your top ten, as I do not want to pay you a % of the client's losses. Thanks anyway. Have a good day.

All said and done, I know you are trying to do the right thing in this industry. I realize that you need to make money, too. However, I honestly feel that our rating deserves to be increased and I urge you to re-think your decision.

Jake

I wanted to point this out since it was brought up so often...I do not need to get involved in every single payout situation. For the most part, I only get involved in the situations where the client is getting penalized for something or another. Have a good day.

Jake

Thanks, RPM. It is not about me, any longer. It is about what is fair and just and right.

Oh well, another posting forum asked us to advertise a few years back...we declined. A few weeks later, that same forum started roasting us. I love laughing at that forum now and saying...WE ARE STILL HERE!!! Part of the fun is proving all these "know it alls" wrong.

Jake
