Should I bet I'm the only one here that did:

RFK (Wash DC)...My first MLB game. Yankees at Senators

I'm a DFW native who was in Maryland while the Old Man did some training at Quantico. So was thrilled three years later when I attended my SECOND MLB game at:

ARLINGTON STADIUM

also have logged time at:

ASTRODOME

Current fields attended are

BALLPARK IN ARLINGTON
TROPICANA FRUIT DOME

And also did THE BIG A in 1972, later went there as EDISON FIELD (1996).

Riverfront Stad.

Dodgers Stadium

Best environments IMO were Mile High (70k plus in stands on Opening Day and the crowd went nuts when it started snowing!!), Wrigley (bleachers far more fun than lower level along baselines), and to a lesser extent Fenway.

Worst environment. Astrodome/Kingdome. Very strange places to watch games. RIP!!

If anyone ever gets a chance to attend Opening Day in Cincinnati, you won't be disappointed. Its one of the great traditions of MLB.

The day starts with the Finley Market Parade and there is lots of other pageantry leading up to the game. Kids are routinely allowed off of school for the game and its considered a Holiday in Cincy. The Reds, of course, are the only team in MLB permitted to open at home each season.

Last year I attended Opening Day and sat in front of Johnny Bench as the Reds opened GABP.

Nothing beats opening day in Cincinnati. The game is almost always sold-out and its like a playoff atmosphere even when the Reds stink.

Cincy Fred, were you around when the Reds played at Crosley field? I went to a game there back in the early 60's. I remember the small incline they had in front of the left field wall. I also recall the 1961 Reds team led by Frank Robinson, Vada Pinson, Eddie Kasko, Jim Maloney, Jim O'Toole, Birdie Tebbetts and a few others.

FYI:
SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) The newest member of the Cincinnati Reds' rotation moved to the front of the line.

Right-hander Corey Lidle will start the Reds' season opener on April 5 against the Chicago Cubs, the first time the 31-year-old pitcher has received such an honor.

Manager Dave Miley announced his decision Tuesday, picking Lidle over holdovers Jimmy Haynes and Paul Wilson. Lidle signed a one-year contract for $2.75 million as a free agent from Toronto, where he went 12-15 with a 5.75 ERA last season.

The Cubs plan to start Kerry Wood at the front of a rotation that includes Mark Prior and Greg Maddux. The Reds' rotation is in flux less than two weeks from the season's start.

Wilson is expected to be the Reds' No. 2 pitcher after going 8-10 with a 4.64 ERA last season.

Haynes lost his first four starts last year and started only 18 games due to back problems, going 2-12 with a 6.30 ERA.
