I don't know where BB ranks in capping boxing, but he is the best damn "halftime bettor" that I've seen..and one of the best "all-around cappers" ever.
He makes the DB screen pop, and has everyone hanging on the line, while the band is getting off the field at half.
I'd carry his clubs for him, if he would have me.
It's gonna be a damn shame, if Lem, HH, or BB ever pass without someone getting them to sit down, and spill like Doyle did for a book, as those guys would take invaluable skills to the grave with them.
That's why I look forward to Scotty's book, and it's stories of Sonny,etc..when it hits the GBC.

I sat sat down with Herbie for 8 years and over that time I was like a sponge everytime he made a line move or would say he liked a fight or a game I would always pick his brain apart afterwards I learn'd more working with Herbie for all of those years than most bookmakers these days will learn in a lifetime

mvbski, a funny side to Herbie. He was a stand up guy, as you well know. Mabey too stand up. No gray areas in his world. You were either in his good graces or not, and not was for all time. He was the only boxing oddsmaker of respect in LV after Bob Martin passed. Only trouble was half the books and book mgrs managed to piss him off and get on the "not list". If you wanted to put up a fight and you needed Herbies # you probably needed a beard to get them. Herbie and I were and remain good friends to this day, even though he's back in NJ.....ScottyS
Scotty I remember when Mel from the vegas club would send his beards over to get his numbers Herbie would abuse them to no end and I would just sit behind the counter and laugh my a## off
