the technical solution, probably not in the short run, in the long run I hope yes!

now look at the practical side of things, I don't have a clue why any of the ones that suposely paid this ransom didn't tell western union something like "the minute this transfer is picked called the law enforcement as these people are criminals"

there are three or four silicon valley companies that want huge dollars (half a million) to make this go away. Can the books absorb this and still give out stupid bonuses? I think not.

Don´t think the authorities would mind catching the one who´s sending the transfer instead of arresting the person picking up the transfer.

I dont know about anyone else, but if I am in Russia and would know that the money was picked up by mobsters, there is no way I would even think about reporting them to anyone.
My family would be massacred the next day
