There are so many books affected by this it's unreal. Where this is going to lead I have no idea but I have a suggestion to make things smoother in the meantime...
At least one book I know sent emails to its clients with an alternative URL. Naturally it has to remain secret or else the attackers will find out and it will no longer work.
I strongly recommend all affected books to do the same and play this cat and mouse game until they figure out a permanent solution. Maybe just emailing the players with the largest betting volume would work to retain a high percentage of business while minimizing the risk of a leak.
Just a thought in case some books out there hadn't considered this approach.
