LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) Dennis Rodman wants to add an NBA championship to the ABA title he won with the Long Beach Jam on Tuesday.

Rodman had 14 rebounds in 24 minutes and helped the Jam beat the Kansas City Knights 126-123 in the American Basketball Association title game Tuesday, and then expressed hope that a team possibly the Lakers will give him one more chance in the NBA.

''I was a little more aggressive, had my hops, got the deer legs back,'' Rodman said. ''If I had played 30, 35 minutes, I'd have gotten 20 (rebounds) easy, and in the NBA it would have been the same thing. Hopefully, I'll get a call in the next couple of weeks.''

Rodman's agent, Darren Prince, said about six teams have expressed at least some interest in Rodman, including two teams in California.

''I'm not about to beg anyone to get a guy like me,'' Rodman said. ''I think the Lakers should get me at least as an insurance policy ... all the (players) are falling like flies. They know I know the offense, know the system, know the guys.

''Hopefully, another team will pick me up and I'll win a championship somewhere else.''

Rodman showed flashes of the talent that helped him win two NBA defensive players of the year awards and five NBA titles with Detroit and Chicago. He frustrated Kansas City's big men with his positioning and defense, and he frequently dove to the floor chasing loose balls.

Nine of his rebounds were on the offensive glass, and he put back one of those rebounds in the first half for his only two points of the game.

Lakers scout Bill Bertka, the Knicks' Jordan Cohn and the Raptors' Jim Kelly were in the stands for Tuesday's game, and all three declined to comment specifically on Rodman.

''I just want to win another title,'' Rodman said. ''I want to go out there, prove that at 42, hey, I still got it.''

I agree Hache man. Despite his antics Rodman was always a good baller.

I'm not so sure he should go to Lakers though maybe he should go the Knicks heaven knows they can use all the help they can get. (JMO)

Not that dumbass. He refuses to go to practice. Yet he wants to be in the game at crunch time. He would get signed for a week and then miss a few practices or miss the team bus, plane, etc.. Then it would be CYA all over again..

Lakers may as well add him. Like attitude matters any at all in the NBA.

I'll stop there as we all know what a joke the NBA has become.

a lot of teams have no comradery. jordan said he disliked that about the NBA.

this is another reason i like the kings and the pacers those are two teams that just want to win. i hope its them in the finals. defense vs. offense. itd be a great series, thats what the sport needs.

and ron has an attitude problem but he plays his butt off.

Rodman was so good because he gave defense and rebounding but didnt slow the game. Those big guys that can't shoot and rebound usually grab the ball and hold it like they are in the end zone. Mutumbo gave D and rebounding but messes up every non half court team he gets with.

You don't see too many guys take down boards and shut down the other guy while stil making outlet and backdoor passes.

Eccentric is a good Word to describe Dennis. I ran into him him after the Floyd Mayweather fight last Saturday. One of my favorite all-time players in the NBA.
