They hire MEAN JOE as a scout.

The Hall of Fame defensive tackle will serve as a scout for the Steelers.

Greene was the defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals for the past eight years and was an assistant for the Miami Dolphins before that.

Greene was Chuck Noll's first draft choice from North Texas State, fourth overall, when he took over as coach in 1969. He was defensive rookie of the year and made the Pro Bowl for the first of 10 times.

Word is that Jeff Garcia is very close to signing two year deal with the Browns. This could mean the end of Tim Couch's stay with the team.

Tim Couch article:

The Browns' first offer to Tim Couch was not greeted with a warm response.

Couch basically said no to the team's request to cut his salary this season from $7.6 million to $3 million and next year from $8 million to $3.5 million.

That offer was not accepted by the Couch camp, but it was not an outrageously ridiculous offer for a quarterback whose rating has never gotten out of the 70s.

The Browns do not view Couch as a $5 or $6 million player. And they could point out that they paid him $6 million last season when he was a part-time starter.

Still, to Couch it seems like an insult.

How couldn't it when a player is asked to take a 58 percent pay cut?

Couch rejected the offer out of hand. Talks could continue, but the Browns did not hesitate to look elsewhere as they brought in Drew Henson and Jeff Garcia.

The possibility of Garcia taking over at quarterback in 2004 in Cleveland seems as likely as Couch returning to the team that drafted him first overall in 1999.

pitt is looking really bleak

dont tell me maddox the turnover machine is still starting?

its so hard now days to build a nfl team

pitt has too many holes and they are trying to get soso players

i think to win now (except for patriots) you have to go all out and buy the best players ala wash redskins

try to win in 2-3 years because after that the team will have to blow up

salary cap is a bitch

You are lucky to have Tommy if he is the starter. He is a champion.
