these cards (only 750) are the hottest on the market. My guess 10 years from now they will be worth $20,000, as they come with a piece of gameplay jersey and his signature from upper deck. You can buy these cards on ebay for the most part for less than $2000 right now.

What is that scribble on the card? I would not dare invest money in cards. I am not even sold on Lebron yet anyway. The hype is ridiculous.

I bought a box when they came out. Pulled a jersey autograph like the Lebron above, but the 7 foot rookie for the Knicks, which is garbage I believe......

I dunno Surf......Not sure if your serious or not, but I did this hobby for many, many years, and it's very difficult to get the money back you've invested. Ive seen it time and time again.....a card rises to an unreal amount/worth, but sooner or later, crashes. Beckett is a lot to blame though.......

I pulled the Jordan autograph redemption the very first year SPX (I think SPX, the holographic ones) was made. IT booked at around $3,000 I believe, and I sold it for around $2400 to a guy in Cali. I regretted it somewhat afterwards, but it turned out to be the best thing because I believe it dropped to as low as $500 at one point couple years later......

I stopped collecting because the market is saturated and drives down the selling value of cards. Oh..... I remember the days when the golden grail was a '89 Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie card. Now every thing is a freaking insert, jersey card or gimmick.

Hache, I think grading has ruined the whole sports card collecting industry and further distanced itself for a hobby of the typically 12 year old IMO.

your exatly right go2guy.....I will never believe in the grading krap. I can tell what kind of condition a card is in. I dont need a company grading it and then someone jacking the price up 5 times simply because that company puts it in a $1 hard case and puts a 9 out of 10 on it........

I owned a baseball card shop for a long time in the early 90's, save your money this new crap is garbage. Sixtys and before are the only cards that will always have a value.

No problem Surf.....I buy some just every now and then, but not even close to what I used to. Im not gonna lie though, I'd love to have that Lebron card above......exactly why I bought the one box hoping I'd get lucky...lol.
......After the market started crashing, I just started collecting autographs out of packs of nothing but stars. I thought they would hold value, but I was wrong, they dropped just like everything else does. I have been considering starting again though, I just feel that is one fun thing to have, the autographs out of packs. I pulled a Shaq autograph out of Topps Chrome months ago....only about $80 I think though....

I have a crapload of unopened boxes. I have a whole case of 87 fleer baseball unopened. Bonds rookie, plus tons of others that year. They havent went up worth shit. I also have a couple of Jordans rookie set from Fleer and the set of 79/80 cards where Bird/Erving/Johnson are on the same card. That card kicks ass.

I have a Tom Brady rookie card that I bought in a card store in Yuba City, California, in December 2001 for $3. I was lucky enough to get a friend to sign it for me.
