Does anyone else feel the years and days are starting to fly by ? I feel like I`m living on 'dog years' lately....somewhere along the way it went from 1985 to 2004 and I don`t know where it went...

Is it gambling related, computer related (yes) spending time on a computer will definitely speed up the clock.....its funny when I was a kid back in the 70`s and 80`s and I looked back 10 years it seemed forever ago, now looking back 10 years I can remember what I had for lunch!
The oldest living american died last week at (I think 114?) somewhere around there, so the best case scenario for me is 80 more years....thats not enough time....and thats not a "quality 80" you can bet on that ..... How to slow down father time?

Ill give you several ways over the next day or so..

#1. Get back in shape, find a workout that you can stick to consistently, cardio 30 minutes plus daily is a good start..

I have a real good friend who is in great shape. He is turning 37 next week and is in the shape of a 21 yr old.. He tells me that he feels absouletly no different than when he was in high school, so for him --- time has not moved much.. He runs and weight trains 5 times each, per week and adheres to a bodybuilding diet.. Ill tell you a couple other ways later..

I like your thoughts on almost anything you have to say, thanks....You may not know this about me, I am an exercise freak...And with my job I literally exercise 5-6 hours a day...Its not a matter of feeling old for me...I do however fear aging and ultimately death...I fear the reaper bigtime!
I feel very healthy, thankfully...Time is flying though and i don`t like it lol!

I have no idea what its about but, well...i dunno ...perhaps you could break it down some for me?

Fish, lol...DIET is my worst problem...I eat good stuff , bad stuff , I eat like I`m away at college for the first time! Whatever I see I eat...never had a weight issue, but if my metabolism ever slows down I could be in trouble!

JMan,

Hate to tell you but your metabolism will slow down.

Also, be careful with the weights as you get older. At 45, I just tore my labrum benching what I did 12 years ago but not in a controlled fashion. Surgery and rehab upcoming.

If I had to do over again, lighter weights, more controlled motion with negatives and more cardio exercise as well.

As you get older, you wanna take more weight off of your frame so your heart doesn't work as hard.

Finally, from what I'm reading there's a good chance with medical advancements and basic health maintenance, you can live productively to one hundred. Marv Levy is like 75 or something and I believe he could coach tomorrow.

Regardless, best of health.

Jman, there is only One way to true Peace and that is to walk daily with "The Prince of Peace" --- Christ Jesus.. ive said it many times here and i dont want to debate this with anyone.. Listen to some testimonies of some of the Christian athletes that you respect Jman.. Read the Bible my friend. Your answers to the questions that you have are in there.. These are just my opinions but Jman, id give it a shot. Its worth looking into from a scientific and historical perspective.. Go watch the movie thats out right now and answer the question yourself, "was Jesus, who he said he was"..

I was only kidding really, I am not really a religious person. I do have faith but my faith is in the goodness of all people. Various religions are to me a vehicle in which God/faith reveals himself to various cultures. I mentioned hinduism becauz they have a firm beleif in re-incarnation & beleive if you are good in this life you will come back more blessed in the next once re-incarnated. For this reason they are not really afraid of death.

Do what Yossarian did in that all-time classic novel "Catch-22": he also feared mortality, and to make his life seem longer he would bore himself with mindless activities, since time stands still when you are bored to death.

Jman, told you that id give you a few ideas. well here is another and this is what i do..

i own my own convenience store and most days i open the thing, working from 5:00 am cst until about lunch most of the days, of course its flexible hours for me.. when i get home at around noon, i take a 1.5hr - 2hr nap. Now i feel like crap when i get up around 2:30pm cst but i take a good shower and by 5pm cst, i feel like a new person.. then i stay up until midnight, only to start the process over the next day.. it seems i get 2 days in 1 for the most part..

I like that...kinda hard for me to take a nap though, my schedule doesn`t allow it, I could never fall asleep during the day lol, I KNOW I would feel like crap!

Sounds like a good deal though for you !

Maybe sleeping less , but I already only sleep about 6 hours...

I had a "near death" experience about thirty years ago. It was awesome. I'm looking forward to "the other side."

Don't fear death. Welcome and embrace it when your time is near.

The Scriptures say:

quote:
Matthew 24
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Source: Bible

I too have noticed how the days seem to be "shorter" now than they were years before, and have wondered if perhaps it might be different if one lived in the country side.

i would suggest watching the last 2 minutes of a close nba game.

it NEVER seems to end - it;s like time stands still due to the endless timeouts and what-not.

NOTHING slows down the hands of time faster than this!
