Not the D.R., but the small french/english ec-dollar island between Guadeloupe and Martinique.

I know there has been very little gaming in this small country, and it didnt fair so well in its infancy. Im not big on staking much trust in any of these small 3rd world countries, I put much more faith in who is actually there, but why not ask the question anyhow. Has this country gained any trust? Anybody ever operate there or played into a shady shop and gotten any help from the government when you complained. Im in Belize at the time, and I wouldnt touch this country with a 10 foot pole at this time, they simply have way too many skeletons in the closet to stand up for their own legislation under international pressure. I know Antigua is fighting in the WTO to protect their interests, laws, industries, and sovereignty. Anybody have any information on Dominica and how they stand for their own rights (Im not talking bananas either, Im talking about legal gaming and banking laws).

The worldfactbook claims that they have very little anti-money-laundering policies in place, however Ive heard the exact opposite. Just considering licensing and putting a server on this volcano. What's your thoughts?

Fishhead, I didnt mean the Dominican Republic if you're referring to Martinez. Im thinking Dominica. There's been a few nightmare sportsbooks there in the past, its been a while, but a few bad ones come to mind, and no good ones that I can think of. Like I said, I dont put any faith in a jurisdictions, and good jurisdictions are only good because of the shops who set up there, as bad jurisdictions are bad because of the scum they attract.

Im just stabbing in the dark for a place that would be happy to have a good shop and where a good shop would benefit the locals greatly enough to deserve appreciation. I havent found one yet, Dominica is just a thought. Id like to get some feedback if anyone has horror stories (always great for negotiations) or fine points that may be positive for a startup non-sports gaming shop.

places that would be happy too exist, the problem is that they usually want an arm and a leg for the license and the places that are "ok" with gaming are usually all in Europe
