IMO. Sure plenty of games end up on, or around the pointspread, but just as many are way off. A lot of bettors just don't make a big deal of it for example when a 4 point dog wins outright by 10 points. The pointspread is really not so much a number that predicts how much the favorite should win by, but a number that will draw two way betting action on the game in question. A lot has been written about pointspreads here in the past.

SIA often shades one side to -120 for example I got Fl State + 6.5 +100 this evening...pinny is also reduced vig shop...as for 500$ being hardly worth it, it is worth it just fine for me...I play between 100$ to 500$ per game with middles/scalps between 200-1000$...keeps me entertained...besides I coudnt afford any more.

sorry I didn`t mean to come accross that way its just that the edge is a few percent on the middle at most.
If playing -110 on both sides its not a profitable middle.
In the NBA its profitable on single digit numbers between 2 and 9
If the edge on the middle is half a percent you basically earn $5 minus the risk of getting stiffed at lower tier books such as SIA.
