What is the perception you have of the Baltimore Ravens?

We in Baltimore are quite proud of the team Ozzie Newsome and Brian Billick have put together, but wih this latest bombshell I wonder what the rest of the country thinks of the team...I have heard they are pretty much hated and looked at as the thugs of football...Is this true?

Raiders of the east coast?

Here in Baltimore Ray Lewis seems to have just about fully recovered in the public eye...But now this Jamal Lewis drug case will probably even re-open that wound...

The Ravens have alot of individual stars , the Lewis', Ogden, Ed Reed, Boulware, McCalister, Todd Heep to name some...do you guys look at the Ravens as the criminals of the NFL, and hate them?

All teams have punk azz thugs. Some just dont get caught. Peyton Manning may be distributing crack in central Indiana. Who knows?

To be honest with you JMAN................they are just not a popular team nationwade.

Partly because they are still a relatively new franchise and Baltimore wlll always be associated with the Colts.

Also, the name RAVENS I felt just never quite cut it. RAVENS???

Your from Baltimore so maybe you can explain that one to me please.

I wasn`t wild about the name either Fish, in fact I wasn`t wild about the team, I still get a charge when I see the Colts in those blue uni`s...the Colts are Baltimore, the Baltimore Colts, it should have never happened, the colors and name should have never left the city....That Colts helmet has to be the coolest in the NFL IMO...

...but anyway, after all the Browns players had fallen off the Ravens roster I accepted them as my state team....its still not quite the same as when we had he Colts but then again sports isn`t what it was either, so thats that...

Journey 90% of America and about 25% of football fans couldnt even tell you what state the Ravens are in even given their city as a clue!

Really the RAVENS bring nothing to the table in terms of national superstar favorites. I mean even when they won teh Super Bowl no one seemed to care. I mean all they have is defense and that makes for a REAL boring game!

I agree with General. From experience, just letting everybody know Colorado University is getting all this media hype about strippers and whatever, when every single college across America does the same thing. They blame the coach for not knowing whats going down which makes me sick because the top management people really dont know whats going down. I been to University parties like Illinois, and Northern Illinois. You have no idea what goes down out here. It's like the saying when dealing with athletics, whats stays in Cancun stays in Cancun.. Same mentality these stars have.. They are living the life of doing whatever they want to do and never get caught, but if they do, somehow, someway they can get out of it.

J-Man-

I hate to tell you this BUT the rest of the country does not give a shit about the Ravens.

They have a good defense and all but the franchise is still "new"...I know I know the Browns..yada yada yada...who cares?!?!?!

I'm a huge football fan and other than the fact that I'm coming to the conclusion that Ray-Ray may be a better linebacker than LT....the team just doesn't excite me. I would rather watch a Seahawks, Bengals, Skins, Fins, and even Browns game than a Ravens game. They are flat out uninspiring.

If any team's two best players consist of a murderer and a big-time drug thug, public perception is probably not going to be too great.

Yes, I know, there was no murder conviction and the drug dealer has yet to be convicted. Your question, however, went to the perception of the average non-Raven fan. I think a lot of people have a hard time overlooking poor character regardless of the team.

UH JMAN, I could be wrong, but I believe that the Rockets have won 3 NBA championships including back-to-back in 1994 and 1995. Also they were in teh NBA finals in 1981 or so as well. IN 1997 they were 57-25 and made it to the Western Conference finals.

But then again, who is counting!
