Living out here in Los Angeles no doubt about it Kevin Brown. $105 Million for 7 years and the dodgers never made the playoffs with him. He spent more time in the disable lists then starting every 5th day in the rotation. He'll have a harder time in the east now that he has the face the DH hitters in the american league.

Also add Darren Dreifort the last two years have been a waste of time and money for the dodgers, he hardly pitched. Damn they have the life some of these ball players who sit at home due to injury and don't have to play and still collect their millions.

All MLB players are overpaid. I know you didnt ask this, and Im not trying to be a wise guy, but not being a fan of the game this is how I feel. What do they do.....Sit in the dugout, go up to bat 3~4 times a game, and stand out in the field and possibly get 4~5 balls hit their way per game..........

Jeter isn`t the 8th best player in the game lol...Jeter is a very good player, but he is only as good as his surroundings, which have been almost unprecedented in the past 30 years!!! Jeter would be making about 65% of that had he not be born with a Silver Yankees Spoon is his mouth...

The Yankees are the only team that would pay Jeter that money...I can name 25 players better than Jeter...

Damn JMan...you are one Yankee HATER!!!!

Next time you get a chance, do a search on the VALUE of the NYY. General Steingrabber overspends but he does it to sell tix, increase the value of the franchise, make more money from TV. Baseball is a game but it is also a business. Giambi really hasn't done shit in pinstripes but according to ESPN, tix sales in the Bronx were up 6% the year he got here.

Regarding Jeter, I like the guy. He's definitiely not my favorite Yank and while the guy has been surrounded by talent, somehow, someway, that MOFO gets a big hit or shows more range than he has all season just when you need him to. He was not the best SS in the game last year but he is a "clutch" player as much as it pains my analytical ass to say that.

Swami- in all seriousness I don`t hate the Yankees at all...I think the players NY has are some of the better guys in baseball...I am not wild about George though, and I am very disgusted at how the players union has destroyed the greatest game of all time...

Let me ask you a question Swami, remember the play Jeter made against Oakland where he rushed over to the 1st baseline and cut the ball off, then wheeled and threw out Giambi?
I have always wondered why all the fuss over that play? I think the ball would have arrived and got Giambi even if Jeter never cut it off,lol..I could be wrong, but I always thought this...BTW I love Jeter he is a great player...A great clutch player, I just think he`s a bit overpaid...
