Sosa for the past couple of years had the worst acne. Now that the heat came down for using juice his face clears up,Giambi loses weight and clearly choked in his interview with ESPN,and Bonds says the balls are now softer.Hmmm

I know this has nothing to do with steroids, but Pedro looked like crap on TV. today. His face looks bloated, he has some kind goofball haircut to boot. Bottom line he looked out of shape, might be a good bet against early.

giambi gets my vote for worst liar. he says he only lost 4 pounds i know to lose that kind of fat/muscle in your face a lot of other fat/muscle must come off first. he has easily lost 15 pounds if not more like 25. he also says he lost the weight to play 1st base better, this is also an awful lie because he had been playing 1st all along, correct?!

at least when barry said the balls were 'softer than before' it kind of made you wonder. this wouldnt suprise me given the tactics coors field has used to decrease homeruns. though this (the softer ball story) will likely go unfounded also. the official ball is the official ball end of story.

when a guy says he lost 4 pounds but looks radically different, there is no wonder there. he's not being honest with us fans.

its way too obvious, and the dumb excuses aren`t fooling anyone...

and when no one hits 50 again (just like it use to be when 50 was next to impossible) that will prove even more....

the records in MLB are already tainted forever now...but we all no which 500 HR club members earned it...

Willheim, you must be off the sauce too. Your' hair has grown back and you have lost some of the excess water weight you have been carrying for so many years. I kind of liked the old Willheim.

Maybe now Fred McGriff will get the respect he deserved instead of cheaters like Bonds, Sosa, Palmeiro, Gonzalez, Rodriguez, etc.

Sosa looked the same to me, including his body. He doesn't look like he's lost any weight or muscle. So I take it from the post that you guys' think Sosa took juice but now is off it. Well then if he gets back to hitting 50+ HR's and 450+ foot HR's then what will the reason be?

Brett Boone! Look at Aaron. It's after(brett) and before(aaron) steroid example.

man, you really are a blind cub fan aren't you? anyone who thinks sosa didn't juice is totally delusional. and, sosa is worse than the rest because not only did he juice, he CORKED HIS BAT. sosa is the king of the cheaters.

Phllly,
I respetfully disagree with you. Look at Raffy's head from his rookie year to now. And look at the later-years power he suddenly "developed". Unprecedented, in the pre-steroid years.

Do you think he's still on the juice?

i haven't seen him yet so, i can't comment on his acne or his weight. but, i would think if he still has half a brain in his head, he is off the juice.

tell you what d2, i'll make a side bet with you on sosa's homerun total. i'll take under 50 homers up to $250.

Yup.

D2's opinions represent a small minority(1%) of Cubs fans. It is extrememly difficult to believe that Sosa hasn't used steroids. Your best arguement would probably be that he isn't bright enough to pull it off without getting caught. As embarrassing as the whole "corked bat" situation was to the Cubs' organization, Sosa's absolute stupidity in handling that was priceless.

But....as Cubs' fans, we're willing to look the other way as long as Sammy plays defense and moves Grudzielanek to 3rd with less with than two outs. With some of the lofty estimates regarding the number of players using steroids in baseball, it's difficult to come down to hard on any one guy.

Blue Edwards, I wouldn't be so quick to make that bet, thought. Remember, this is going to be the first full season in which Sammy actually has legitimate protection behind him in the lineup.

plays defense and moves the runner to third? have you ever watched sosa play? he does neither.

as far as that bet goes...i am comfortable with it. i doubt whether d2 takes me up on it. what if sammy gets suspended again or his body breaks down because its no longer artificially strengthened? then, he'll miss games making it impossible to reach 50.

Blue, I'll tell you, what. Given that nobody had 50 HR's last year that seems a tad high. The high in both leagues was 47. So I'll take Sosa O47.0 for $250 if you'd like. But I want a stipulation that if he should spend more than 15 total games on the DL (not suspensions) then the bet is voided regardless. You in?

Those are old stereotypes from previous years. He actually did play defense and move runners last year, especially with the Cubs being a heated divisional race.

i'll take 47 as the number but, the bet has to stand regardless of how many games he plays or at bats he gets.
