Poker question - What does it take to become talented at Poker? It may be a dumb question (but a long time ago I as told there is no such thing as a dumb question )

What are the keys to becoming a winning Poker player? I know we got plenty of card sharks in the community...

Dante heading the list.

Like anything General practice....What I mean is what natural ability is required? Is there a certain type of individual more likely to be a good poker player? Mathmatical minds?

Heres the facts boys.

The rake and the tipping will KILL you in a live game.

The percentages of long term winners in poker is so small it would amaze you.

Playing 4-8 is the ABSOLUTE lowest limits you can play to have a fighting chance, othewise the rake will eat you alive.

At least with online poker, you avoid the tipping.

Played 25/50 all night w/ James Woods at Hustler Casino. Maybe you would like to join us one day Mr. Journeyman? Man went to the bathroom at least 50 times during the game. I guess he was reliving his role in "The Boost".

C'mon Mr. J-man gather your cans and bottles and make it out to Cali. I hear you've got deep pockets

According to Ken Warren's book of Hold'em only limit games are where the PROs play (middle-limit)...and 19 out of 20 poker players are losers-overall. only 1 out of the 20 a life-long winners...

Jman,

I think it takes alot of dedication to wanting to be good. You have to do alot of thinking about the game and in my opinion alot of reading. Anyone can really win if they work hard at it, but it helps to be mathmatically inclined.

Dante thanks for the compliment bro.
