I`ll start right in my back yard, the Maryland Terps...This team was expected by everyone to get back to the dance and is still being fancied as 'tourney bound' by the talking heads at ESPN (Jay Bilas in particular) but they are 4-8 in the ACC and they could still get back to 8-8 if they win out (Home vs Clemson, Wake, FSU, @ NC St) I doubt they finish any higher than 7-9 in the conference, some are even suggesting at 6-10 they should go!!?? PLEASE! Give their spot to a small conference team, Maryland`s bubble has burst!

It would be nice to see the streak of tourney appearances continue, but they have done nothing in the past month...Unless they win the ACC tourney, Maryland should be O-U-T

Journey, You think only TWO Big 10 teams make it??? Wisconsin and Illinois I take it? I think Mich St. has to be in as well. Big 10 gets at least 3. Purdue is very bubblicious.

...actually Wisc is currently 3rd in the Big 10 and there is no freaking way they won't get in.

You can be sure the Big 10 gets at least 3 in.

DAYTON FLYERS.

Not even a bubble team, probably clearly in. But they have not beaten anyone all year. 1 win in Hawaii to start the season.

I think the Big Ten gets 3...Mich St. will get in...

Amazing what has happened to the Big Ten and the Pac Ten,lol....

I mean realistically these 4-5th best teams in these conferences could get smoked traveling to some of these small schools...

A team like Kent would probably beat UCLA if they had the balls to come visit Kent lol..

As much as I hate to say it, my beloved Oregon Ducks certainly do not deserve to get in based on what they have done so far.

IT will be crime if PAcific is not in the tournament. Also Atlantic Sun is tougher than Big 12. Florida State should be in the nit.

Pac 10 is a certain two team affair unless one wins in the tournament. Thing is I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone does win it other than the two. Other than Stanford's perfect season, there isn't a lot of motivation to win it. I could see your Ducks or my Huskies making a run for it if they get some luck with how the seedings work out.

The Sooners are HORRIBLE! Is there a worse offensive team in the country? Brick city!
How they have been ranked most of the year is nuts!

I doubt they shoot 40% in conference games.

100% agree about UOP - but with a sagarin rating of 73 (meaning an rpi somewhat to match) - and more importantly - playing in the big worst - the 16th "highest" rated conference - they have ZERO shot at an at-large bid - NONE! as we both know - pacific is coached by one of the best coaches out there that no one has heard of - bob thomasson. the man can coach.

to me - the better story will be what if UOP wins the big west tourney over utah state. to me, that solidly puts USU on the bubble. they are 34 right now - but play shit the rest of the season - so that won't help that number any. a loss to UOP puts them around 40 - and right there on the bubble. should they go - HELL YES! mark this down right now - USU wins its 1st round ncaa game - you can take that to the bank.

what hurts both schools is the last time the big worst got 2 ncaa bids was around 1993 - and that is not good. what helps these 2 is the fact the pac-10 sucks, the wcc will only get 1 bid unless gonzaga loses its tourney - and that ain't gonna happen, the wac will (should) get 3 bids and the mountain west will get 2 or 3, too.

what will hurt usu and uop is some of the VEERY overrated schools in the big 11 GIVEN ncaa berths based on name only. right now - purdue, michigna, mich state and iowa are all rated higher than UOP. sorry - gimme a beutral court game with UOP against any of these 4 - and i'll take UOP on the money line - and i'll wlak away the winner. but once the dunderheads at the ncaa committee get behind closed doors - and the big conferences start giving blow jobs to committee members - the big 11 will get more bids then they deserve - and then be "stunned" when most are "1 and done" (personally i hope michigan makes the ncass - for i will be unloading on whoever the play - for you can also put this in stone - michigan will get killed in its 1st conference game - and if they play UOP - it would be one of the biggest coaching mismatches in ncaa history - thomasson will school amaker out of the building).

regardless of them winning at home
it would be a downright travesty to not have fsu in the tourney.

FSU still is right smack on the bubble...if they stun Duke AGAIN that would do it I think...But they could still finish 6-10 in the ACC, that IMO is not enough...
When they are on they can play with anyone, but they can look horrible , they still depend heavily on outside shooting and that will get you nowhere in March... This team is Jeckyl/Hyde or should I say Home/Away?

I think they need a minimum of 7-9 and winning 1 ACC tourney game...

Maryland for sure, Notre Dame also.

It would be a shame if the loser of Pacific and Utah St doesn't get in. Same with Kent St and Western Mich. These four teams better reach the finals of their tourney to even be considered.
