Who's Hubert Davis, you ask? Well presently he is the backup shooting guard and 3 point shooting specialist on the New Jersey Nets. In 44 total minutes this season Hubert has scored 2 points, dished out 3 assists, and ripped down 3 rebounds.

Well if this is the case, then you would be hard pressed to find a player that has improved his team more than Hubert. You see, Hubert started the season with the Detroit Pistons. After a decent but unspectacular start, the Pistons suddenly caught fire on Dec 27 and reeled off 13 straight wins. Then, without warning, the Pistons foolishly released Davis on Jan 20. The Pistons immediately lost their next 3 games and 11 of their next 16.
In the meantime, the New Jersey Nets, the 2 time Eastern Conference defending champs, had been struggling all season long. Team dissension, injuries, and a general lack of enthusiasm had left the Nets with a very mediocre 21-20 record, a five game losing streak, and a coach about to lose his job. On Jan 26, the Nets fired Byron Scott and replaced him with Lawrence Frank.
