Chicago Cubs (my choice)

Houston (very close to the Cubbies)

Boston (Shilling over the hill?)

New York (still could be if the cards fall right)

Anaheim (dark horse with potential)

Florida (young and still dangerous with or without Pudge)

This was a poll question on CBSsportsline a couple days ago and the CUBS won by a large margin.

The Red Sox were a distant second.

I think you can throw the CUBS, REDSOX, and ASTROS in a hat and cant go wrong with either.

If it comes down to the playoffs, you basically looking at a possible 3 man rotation and 4 at most.

If healthy and on the top of thier game, I would go with PEDRO, SCHILL, & LOWE.

It really is amazing just how fast it can turn...I mean we`re talking about the Chicago Cubs!

Timlin is another one, this guy couldn`t hold down an army of fire ants 3 years ago! Now look at him,lol..

If Maddux can still win 15 games theyvery well could be one of the best ever...

Wood and Prior should get near 20, Clement is just as capable but always seems to lose it somewhere in the season..Zambrano has such a great live arm....

But you know someone has to lose, and if history repeats one of these guys will breakdown (injury or off year) anytime in the past when a great group of players team up a couple always seem to not put it together (like expected)...

Houston potentially could be just as good...IF they all put it together...

Realistically both teams could have 4 18+game winners

Agree with the JOURNEYMAN on his selections .... except for the YANKEES. They will win this year outscoring their opponenents. This team is liable to average 5 - 6 runs a game over the course of the year.

The Losses of Pettite ---- Clemens ---- Wells will be too much to list them in the elite class. RIvera is still solid (No DOubt) .... but they could still be beaten in a 5 or 7 game Series with 2 SOLID Pitchers going against them. WORLD SERIES with Arizona (Schilling & Johnson).

on paper, its the cubs. wouldn't surprise me if the phillies end up very close to the cubs in team era and wins.

I can't believe nobody is mentioning the A's fellas......still got Zito, Hudson, Mulder, Harden and then either Redman or Duchscherer

i'll take Zito, Hudson and Mulder over Pedro, Schilling and Lowe any day!

Without a doubt they should be considered.

I mean, Harden may be the best #4 starter in the game!
