I'm just curious, but I would like to hear comments from those that have had a balance at a book where they couldnt get a payout for whatever reason.
If you bet the board ATS, they are so 50/50 that I think you would just keep losing your vig. What about ml betting? How about if you bet the board on ml favs and set it up so you only ate the vig when the ml dog won at the other shop.
I havent had to do this but I know some here have been in this situation. I am just thinking out loud here.
Any comments.

The problem with that is the risk involved if you win more of your bets at the stiff book. Keep in mind, as for Panam, that you can only do this until the book actually folds, and then you're stuck with potentially a greater balance there than before. I seriously doubt you'll find high MLs at Panam on anything straight anyway - though it's a shame, since if they put up some +1100 or so NBA away dogs you might be able to get some cash out before one of the dogs bit. I've considered this briefly but lacking a very high ML I see no reason to piss my money away, but then I only have a few dimes there so I'll sit on it.

Jazz,
What if you had a small advantage at the stiff book, like say a free 1/2 point. You could bet the board on favs ATS and probably get a couple sides or a middle. This would help cover some of your vig on the others. And you would also hope the dogs hit at a higher rate that day.

brewster, there's no guarantee that those sides would not hit at the book with the free half-point. Middles, if they hit, you're fine, but it doesn't eliminate the problem of you simply going on a winning streak at the stiff joint. Others can tell you about that danger - I've read about others winning their asses off when they've tried it, others have been successful. Me, I just don't want to make it worse than it already is.

Ditto what Jazz said.

I say stop betting there and focus on collecting.

Nothing worse than running up the balance at the stiff book.
