Unexpected Events For Us At Daytona

Wasn't sure which forum to post this in. Finally decided to post it right here.

I'll try to be brief. Mrs. Jones and I sat in the cheap seats on the backstretch. After the green flag dropped, being somewhat impaired and having forgot several of my matchups, I pulled my matchup bet tickets from my pocket.

Without going into detail, I simply want to say I was incredibly and pleasantly surprised when the guys on our left and right did exactly the same thing after I did. We had a really cool time checking out each others bets.

The second unexpected thing was how many boos greeted Air Force One from the cheap seats. More than just a few "Nascar Dads" and a few mom's saluted the the plane's flyover with a middle finger high in the sky. At least they did in our section of seats. Two of them were the guy and his wife on our right. Mrs. Jones and I did not show such disrespect. It will be sufficient for us to put a Kerry sticker above the Nascar one on the back window of our pick-up. There truly was a lot of anti- Bush sentiment in the crowd. One guy waving a small American flag while booing Bush's image on the screen was something unforgettable.

Anyway like I said I didn't know which forum to post this in but something other than hot dog wrappers might just have been blowing in the wind in those "Nascar Nation" cheap seats. And you don't know what it is do you Mr. Bush?

And BTW there was absolutely no search of our bag or person upon entering the backstretch.
I guess we're not VIP's back there. Not until November anyway.

As far as the people sitting next to you....Talk about being unpatriotic. Despite it all, he is our President, and deserves both our prayers, and our respect.

Mrs. Jones thought the coolest thing was seeing the size of the Stealth bomber compared to the two fighters flying next to it.

Aside from all the bet tickets around us, I thought the coolest thing occured while I was in line at the men's latrine under the stands prior to the race.

A yound lady did a complete strip while changing into warmer clothes right in front of us guys. And nodody complained. Imagine that!!!

Thanks for the report Mr. Jones. I got to get there someday. It would be cool to flip off bush too.

Yea and there truly were alot of confederate flags in the parking lot, the day they pull a dem lever is the day the repubs no longer exist.

Best thing of all, his campaign stop was paid for by taxpayers.

Despite it all, he is our President, and deserves both our prayers, and our respect.

Did Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, etc .. deverve both prayers and respect too for the simple reason that the were in power?

Well, I have to agree with Lander's sentiment - this is America, and just because a career politician emerges from the top of the snake pile doesn't mean he 'deserves both our prayers, and our respect'. Not referring to Bush, but I have had in the past zero respect for some Presidents - he doesn't deserve my respect unless he earns it - he works for me, not the other way around, and if I think his job performance is terrible, he won't get my respect. Again I'm not referring to Bush.

IMO Bush cannot be compared to Hitler, Stalin or Lenin. But like I said, that is in MY opinion, and opinions are like ass holes, everyone's got one.
