Daly won in a playoff. His first win since the 1995 British Open. Quite a comeback for a guy many wrote off due to personal problems. Hats of to John Daly.

that guy travels to each tournament in a motor home, and sells his country CD and John Daly merchandise out of it.

Coke dealers rejoice! A big order from John is coming in!!! Just kidding. In all seriousness, you have to be happy for this guy. Here is a guy who has had all of the problems that regular guys like us have had to deal with, (alcoholism, drug abuse, obesity, you name it), and he has forged ahead. Good for him, and I wish him the best of luck in the future.

It's interesting the support this guy has. No doubt he is good for golf, and represents "everyman".

The flip side of course is the semipro golfer who practices dillegently, works out, is fit, dedicates their life to the game, doing everything possible to try to succeed. These golfers must feel some unbelievable frustration watching a great talent like John Daly do everything possible in his personal life to fail, and yet STILL find a win to succeed at times. Unbelievable.

It's logical for me to dislike John "Bozo" Daly. Yet, like Fishhead and Co. I like the guy and root hard for him. Just don't call me a fan. I think it's a lot like the Adam Sandler movie. Golf is so sterile, we will root for ANYONE who shows ANY personality, even if it is a destructive one at times.

Winninghand, he dealt with all those while being under the scope. The rest of us just deal with it. That just makes him better!!!!

I am also glad to have seen Daly win. This guy is good for golf when he is right. I would like to see him be competitive in a major once again. Hats off, John.
