Lay 115 to win 100 on a favorite.
Take 100 to win 120 on the dog.

You break even or win 5 bucks.

You CANNOT lose!

book a. team a -125 team b +105
book b. team a +105 team b -125

You put 100 on team b at book at and 100 on team a at book b and win 5 bucks no matter who wins.

Hopefully that gives you the general idea.

You can accomplish the above two ways.

Predicting which way a line will move.... or have different shops where you can find these bets at the current time.

Only time will tell....

If the favorite wins you are winning 100, but losing 100 on the DOG.......EVEN.

Aug From experience I know that it is a laborious grind. You have to have a multitude of outs which of course requires capitol. You also need to be able to afford Don Best, and be willing to sit in front of a computer waiting for numbers to move. There is also a lot of competition for numbers at almost every reliable out. Can it be done - yes, is it easy - no. IMHO.

You need alot of $$$ @ alot of different bookmakers to make it work...also need to tie up alot of money to win only a little money. ie if it is a 10 cent scalp you must tie up 1000 to win 50$

they are much easier to find on special proposition bets...almost impossible to find with regular sporting event bets...

right now there is one available where the Favorite is -160 at one book & the Dog is + 483 at another.

augs,

It's easy to do if you find an opportunity like that. Trouble is, opportunities come about only once in a blue moon, unless you do the Don Best thing and are like quick draw McGraw with the mouse.

I'd be careful about the time-shifted scalp, ie. the one that requires predicting future line moves. Unless you have a very high success rate (over 75%, say) you can't call that a true scalp because the money you get with the scalp is your reward for correctly predicting the line move. There are other times when you get punished for not predicting it right (getting stuck with one side with a bad number) so you can hardly call that "free" money.

this is awesome info.but me and my girlfriend are still trying to figure this out.

Whats Does Don Best do? tht you cant get from other live feeds.

DARRYL-----I have no problem being quick draw due to the fact I have day trading company,so i m always online. Is this the biggest obstacle?

GREAT INFO FROM GREAT CAPPERS!!!!! thanks

Don Best gets the line movement (in most cases) at the major books before anyone else. Example if the Knicks move from 4 to 5 at CRIS you will see it on DB first and be able to find -4 somewhere if you are lucky. Most likely later you can take plus 6 or 6.5 at game time. Of course it does'nt always work that way, at best it is a slippery slope. Proceed with caution.

PS. Baseball is another story. Perhaps someone will elaborate.

I would recommend setting up THREE computor screens.

One you make your bets with and can view a shops line on, one connected to a LIVE LINES feed, and another with a sportsbook like PINNY,OLY, etc., where you can just REFRESH the lines anytime for INSTANT INSTANT updates.

In my opinion making a liitle profit with no risk is worth it.

I am willing to get don best and put say

500$ per book with four or five books. but I still dont understand some of the things you are talking about! I really appreciate all of you help but if possible could you give me some exmples and scenarios.

Thanks

Augs

it is also laborious to have to move money around all the time.

Lets talk about a fictitous matchup

A vs B

Bookie # 1: has the line A-135 B+125
Bookie # 2: has the line A-120 B+110

So you bet 1200 on team A -120 with Boookie # 2.

& you bet 1000 on team B with Boookie # 1.

If team B wins you collect 1250 & pay out 1200. You win 50$

If team a wins you win 1000$ & lose
1000
icon_rolleyes.gif

Problem is you now have all your money at one bookie. You have to withdraw...spread it around again & keep waiting.

P.S: With the example above You could also do the math & win 25$ no matter who wins the game.

also sharp books...the ones where your money is safest...are less likely to have variations amongs each other...but get a few rogues in your arsenal (SIA)...there are tons of scalps available.

Everybody does not win...See my example above. It is more than likely that someone had a bad line...or failed to move it quickly....
