When I see people talk about getting kicked out of sportsbooks or having their limits reduced, invariably they are Don Best players, middlers or scalpers. I was just wondering if anyone either got kicked out themselves or knew someone first hand that got kicked out of a sportsbook simply for handicapping games, betting them and winning too much.

The reson I am posting this is because I would guess that it doesn't happen very often. I would guess that a book would want to keep your business as long as you weren't beating them to numbers, middling with them or scalping with them. Maybe I am totally wrong.

Nick - In my experience bettors that play their own stuff don't get thrown out, or even have limits reduced at least at the majors. Natrually sometime plays may match, but as a rule a sharp linesman knows when a player is betting his own handicapped plays.

Plenty of books will boot you for just betting your own stuff if you win.. Vipsports, Easybets, Gameday does just to name a few I know of myself..

Doubt it ever happend to anyone at the major books like Pinny, Greek and Grande though.

90% of places i have to believe no. If you win too much, i think most places will cut your limits. If they are smart they will try to get on your sides.

I was gonna ask Scorp if he ever played line moves but I guess it's too late.

Normally I am sympathetic to books that boot players because business is business. Somehow it just seems wrong to me to get booted for doing something as square as handicapping your own games.

Dom,

The people you know who got booted from those books -- did they do a lot of line shopping? The reason I ask is that I got booted from 2 of those 3 because of that. They thought I was playing steam but they are so slow at moving the line that any line shopper would be a steam player to them.

Nick,

Interesting question. I don't know the answer but I've never heard of anyone who got booted for winning who didn't line shop (say with at least 4 or 5 good outs).

Handicapping own games = square

I know for a fact there is 2 or 3 bookmakers that follow my plays and then add a zero to the wager.
