Well I decided to finally play what's left of my BetPanam account - the balance of $3937.

I realized I have nothing else but HOPE that every single customer including myself would get paid next week?!?

Ivan I was just joking about betting the money in your account! Now they will never pay you since they realize that you will just keep betting!

Ivan, don't listen to anyone - bet or no bet, your chances of getting paid do not change.

Ivan,

Don't be making stupid bets out of desperation!!!

Be patient and you'll see at least your post-up money, if not the whole balance. The bond thing sounds believable but there's a lot of red tape to wade through before the cash can actually be paid.

Do you think they won't have money for next week and will have to use the 'magical' bond?

I wouldn't hold your breath for next week's money, but it may still arrive. I personally believe nothing they have said since the financial troubles began. Books in this spot tend to lie, lie, and lie again. However, the stuff about the bond was said way back at the start when they were still telling the truth.

Ivan,

If you want, I can buy your balance at a rate of 50%. Just ask them to transfer your balance to me and I'll give you 50% of it in cash by Neteller immediately. The same offer applies to anyone else, up to a maximum of $3,200. This would be a bad deal for you, since I'm pretty confident you'll get the money eventually, but I figure it can't hurt to offer it.

Interesting offer Darryl. I need to pass this along to somebody in the morning. You may have a taker.

Sounds good, SunDevil. Just remember I can only go as high as $3,200 in balance (for $1,600 in cash) and I think it's only fair to give Ivan the first shot. But if he says no, then I'm ready any time you guys are.

This is a real interesting question: How big a chance is there that BetPanam will pay?
One thing I kind of do know, there will be no bail-out! Or at least not a reliable one.
Then there is the question: Should BetPanam continue? Obviously No! Most books in the Caribbean should close shop (unless they have a nice side income) and so should BetPanam. Investors will have discovered this by now and are clearly not going to come up with more capital. Left over is the bond. Hmm, does it really exist? Is it enough to pay everyone? It looks as if their debt is rather big! If there is a bond, then it may not even be enough to pay everyone!

Darryl,
Your offer seems generous to me!

CrAzY Jivin' IvaN,
I think The Shrink can still do something for you! But only you!

Well maybe he can still get the money for you from them with some sweet talking, as you seem to have been so naive to hold 80% of your gambling capital with them. If not, then he may be able to still offer you a bail-out somewhere, though I doubt if he will be willing to do the same thing for others, as most people on this forum are likely to be winners, so why help them!

Ivan, you've got mail again.

acw,

I disagree that not paying would be advantageous. Some people presumably know the name of the major investor(s) and if word got out he stole money he could have problems with future (or current) investments. It is also important for the Panamanian government to close this thing cleanly if they are to ever host any bookmaking businesses again. It is also important for the Rx to have things go smoothly because their reputation is at stake as well.

I agree that the people who hold the money are the stronger team, but I'd like to think the referees are on my side so my even money bet has a positive EV I would say!!

Well I actually had like 4 books with around $1000 each..however the other 3 books have practically been depleted down to $0. I for some lucky reason started winning at BetPanam and have made a few withdrawals (2.5 weeks ago). So I hope BetPanam gets their funds to pay the players.

I don't have $2000 more money to deposit in order to claim the money. I need the tuition money for school next week!
