unfortunate that you have no desire to see it, China has many wonders which are worth the trip...the people are friendly...amzing country really...when travelling however not all is pleasant, I have seen alot of poverty in my day...I am talking the worse kind with people living without heat, water, electricity or latrines (Nepal)...on the surface it can seem very sad, but funny thing is you can walk around the streets & see way more smiling faces than you do here in America, anyway I digree....
I will try not to be too explicit but lets just say I have seen all types of animals hanging on the streets in the markets of China, ALL TYPES....For the most part in their culture they would view a dog almost the same as they do a fish!! In some parts anyway.
Cages everywhere with all types of creatures...restaurants with big windows in front full of snakes...'ie you pick your snake they cook it for you'
Fancy restaurant may bring a bowl of shrimp to your plate in a glass seethrough bowl...the shrimp are ALIVE...placed on a burner & cooked in front of your eyes at the dinner table!!!!

I JUST received this email from my girlfriend about her cat.........................
Hi there! Unfortunately I am not having a good day This time it's personal, not work. I had to have Cleo put to sleep this morning and I have been really upset all day about it. She got pretty sick and I took her in yesterday AM. They put her on an IV with antibiotics and did bloodwork. The results came back this AM and it's not good. There's not much we can do. I could have her there for 2 more days with IV and then they would re-test her blood, but her results are so bad right now that it wouldn't probably make much difference. I hate playing God, and dread telling Julia.
I'm pretty bummed but trying to force my way through the day. My asst. controller gave me a box of Kleenex! I am just trying to keep my act together as the regional controller is here and we have a lot of work to do.
PRETTY GOOD CAT, ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD.
