MOVING MONEY WORLDWIDE

NeTeller expands operations - and wants to hear from players with problems

After only four years on the scene NeTeller is expanding fast it seems - CEO Gord Herman recently revealed that the third party payment company signs up an average of 1500 new customers a day and currently has some 650 000 clients in all.

The company is strongly financed and doing good volumes of business, according to Herman giving it positive future prospects and a growing reputation for efficient and trustworthy conduct in an industry where the use of credit cards has become increasingly problematical in recent years.

These volumes are likely to increase dramatically as new growth strategies take shape in the near future, including a move into the European market from offices on the Isle of Man, and into the Asian sector probably through an operation branded Asian Payments.

Players who use Neteller and experience slow pay behaviour from online casinos would appear to have a friend in Neteller, too - Herman says that this sort of behaviour can be an early warning signal of impending financial hassles, and as such players are invited to report such issues in order that Neteller can investigate and possibly even pull the merchant's authority if he or she is consistently giving problems.

Pfpht.

According to the e-gold system statistics page there were 1,278 accounts created in the last 24 hours (and mind you, it's been around a lot longer and is larger than neteller, so one would think it would be growing at nowhere near the same speed.) There are a total of 1,115,113 accounts (just under 700,000 funded -- would be interested to know that statsitic for Neteller) and in the last 24 hours there were over 15,000 users accessing accounts, who made 21,000 spends totaling just over $ 1 million in value.

You guys are too easily impressed.

Any thoughts on why more books don't use E-gold?

..

Neteller is getting better and faster. Some online casinos now have near instant payouts.. under 5 minutes.

isn't egold a common tool of scam artists....

Don't be daft. e-gold is not nearly so popular with scam artists as good old fashioned cheques and credit cards.

As I said in a previous thread, books love Neteller because it is the next best thing to having a direct hookup to players' bank accounts, since in most cases credit cards are no longer an option. That is the only reason why Neteller enjoys the near-ubiquity it has in the industry. e-gold cannot be loaded/unloaded via ETF, so it will never be as fluid for the average user as Neteller and could never hope to be. Its many other features make it vastly superior, especially to people like myself with no use for a bank account except as a temporary pass-through for cash.

That answers some recent question.

E-gold is not the most secure system around. Whether is be due to their system or the actual users. The fact that e-gold account user information does not need to be verified, DOES make it a target for scammers and hackers.

Also I don't imagine that most sports books want to deal with constantly fluctuating gold prices. I know it goes both ways but I can't imagine them holding much gold just so they can wake-up to see yesterday's handle evaporated by a drop in e-gold pricing.

I personally use e-gold as much or more than Neteller and would surely like to see more books accept it, but it sure seems like a pipe dream to me.

BTW - Anyone know of any books still using E-gold besides MegaSB??

In over seven years of operation there is not a single example of e-gold's security ever having been breached. Individual accountholders who do not practice reasonable security whine a lot if they pick up a keystroke logger and get their account emptied, but contrary to urban legend e-gold's DDU (the people who handle fraud and such) are extremely sharp and extremely quick to try to deal with any problem.

No it doesn't. Scammers and hackers target PayPal accounts, online bank accounts, etc., all of which require account verification. There is little incident of fraud with EvoCash and WebMoney despite the fact that neither of these companies require account information to be verified.

Like a vanishingly small number of other companies in the financial sector, e-gold respects its users privacy.

Did Bet PanAm accept Neteller? Is it Neteller's fault if Bet PanAm never turns up with the money, because they *facilitated* fraud by making it so easy for people to put money into the system? You could never put money into BPA that easily with e-gold because it is not bank-linked; does that mean e-gold is "fighting the wave of fraud in the offshore industry" while Neteller sits around and does nothing?

Of course not; the idea is ludicrous.

True, but if they looked into it they'd know that it's easy enough to hedge. Additionally there are merchant services providers that will convert e-gold to cash far more cheaply than credit cards and other means of payment. EFT and wires are the absolute cheapest way to go for books, which is why Neteller is so popular among them -- they have done a very good job of edging out the limited competition in that market.

As much as I pimp e-gold around here, you're probably right. Several accept WebMoney, which is a nice choice too -- better than Neteller at any rate.

Very few. Russian sportsbook Fonbet does and there are a couple of others listed in this thread.

Once a guy tried to send me egold off a scammed credit card(I dont even remember signing up ) and egold emailed/called me and told me this guy was a scammer and that they'd be rejecting the money and not to ship him anything. This was like 15 minutes after he sent payment.

I believe most of the signups for EGold and IntGold and such are as a result of the many multilevel ponzy schemes that come and go on the internet.

These types of accounts are perfect for those things.

Many people are signing up for several seperate accounts and may never even actually fund the accounts.
