With little or no information coming out of PanAm is it time for the RX and MW to start looking for books to bailout the gamblers that signed up on their recommendations?

Not sure many books are going to step forward this time and it does look bleak at best.

Any Thoughts?

There is very good information out there that the bulk of their player base is comprised of only Wiseguys. Not a good sign for a bailout scenario.

Knowing how fond this forum is of bonus whores... should we divide the Panam database into wiseguys, bonus whores and squares to see who gets paid first?

Wiseguys are the professionals. Usually connected with Vegas or organized betting groups with top linesmakers.
Bonus Whores try to milk the system for the signup bonuses and freebies. They are not loyal to any book, sometimes create more than one account, and often try to take advantage of poorly worded rules.
Squares are the goofs that play recreationally or think they know what they are doing. They tend to lose most of the money, thus funding most of the sportsbook industry.

Bonus whores have to turn over all their money to their pimps. I saw a pimp driving a Mercedes 500 around Las Vegas that had the licensce plate that said THXPANAM.

The problem is if someone accepts the bailout, then makes plays at the bailout book, then Panam comes thru. Sorta in a bad spot.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of a contingency plan, in the event that PanAm does go under shouldn't the site owners be organizing bailouts for the players?

Personally I don't think there are going to be many books stepping forward to help out this time around, Royal bailed out GA Customers and what did they get for it? Constant bashing by the STING clan, plus I don't think many books would want to bailout wiseguys or beards which I would think at 50% of PA's customers are.

IMO

Greneral/FISHHEAD you guys talk about the Risk/Reward approach.

Would either of you purchase someones account over at Pan Am for 50 cents on the dollar?

they were only open 6 or 7 months... I bet if a book took the panam client list and removed the clients that are already playing with them, along with players they have booted for being bonus whores or wiseguys the list would be rather small.

If the top tier books keep bailing out players that play with newer books it would eliminate the risk.

If the top teir books STOP bailing out players that risk their money with newer books it would make players think a little longer about posting up.

some lessons are best learned the hard way.

General,

Aside from the greek and royal, most books don't offer true bailouts. WHat they offer are generous bonuses to those who got stiffed. So if a book offers a bailout, and players accept, and then later on on panam pays the players. It really shouldn't matter that much, since we are likely only talking about about a bonus, not a true bailout. And considering players have had their money in limbo for a month, it wouldnt be so terrible if some were able to come out a little ahead.

The only real problem I see with starting the bailouts is that it would send the message to panam that they don't need to pay. With both PTS and Blue MArlin, as soon as the bailouts started, all talk about finding investors and paying off the players alos stopped. Though in both cases I doubt additional time would have made much difference.

I think since its the players money at stake, you should get a consensus feeling of what they want to do. ANd if they want to start looking for a bailout, then therx should start trying to line them up. How much longer can you reasonably ask people to wait for panam to pay

To the General also,
Luckily, as a prior post of mine would indicate I was able to be paid by panam not too long ago in two seperate installments. Now in reflection it was a bad sign just as sportsbooktrivia did something similar and they took a dive not too long after. But on to the heart of the matter, general, if you are reading this I have a friend of mine and she apparently is willing to give up her balance at panam and let the prescription have the account if you can find her a book where she can match the funds owed and do a 10x rollover. Can she email you regarding this matter?

Pancho, thats not nice, just cuz they are female doesnt mean they are whores. But of course nobody has looked at the real issue of the generous offer of giving the prescription 1600 dollars.(if the acct pays) And in regards to not seeing so many female bettors on the forums, this particular female is not on the forum, which is why I asked for her,,duhhhhhhhhh

And marc, I wasnt sure if sportsbetting trivia was still in business. Thank you for the clarification. I think I worded in a fashion as to say they took a dive in case they still were open. payout 2500 a week sounds like a dive.
