Not too long ago it seems that there was alot more than 23 advertisers here and that there was a new one popping up on a montly basis. Is there any one particular reason for this current situation or is it a combination of (1)slow season for the books (2)books have a negative outlook on obtaining players from forums (3)less new books are opening up (4)the RX is being more careful on who is listed here (5)books dont want to be listed for fear of dos attacks (6)books dont want to be listed for fear of poster attacks??

Is there any one particular reason for this current situation?

No particular reason.

or is it a combination of (1)slow season for the books

Yes, that is part of it

(2)books have a negative outlook on obtaining players from forums

Some books do not like the sharp action they get here.

(3)less new books are opening up

Not sure here. I assume more are opening.

(4)the RX is being more careful on who is listed here

Yes. Trying to do a better job.

(5)books dont want to be listed for fear of dos attacks

Possibly. I have not heard this.

(6)books dont want to be listed for fear of poster attacks??

Certainly a possibility, but those issues are being addressed and our policy of unsubstantiated rumors and attacks on books has changed for the better.

Rio is very happy with the response here. Traffic from this site has been very good. We don't love a lot of things that go on in these forums, but the numbers are the numbers.

I think all books are pretty much numb to what posters say. It amazes me how much people that post here thinks our opinion matters to a book. Simply put it doesn't. They run the books the way they see fit. The only thing I think posters can do is offer up ideas or slight changes to their books that they might use. You can stand here and say Panam sucks until you are blue in the face and I would guess they simply don't care. You can say Pinnacle is the worst book around because of no customer service phone number and they would laugh at you. Now if you said I wish the books offered a number on XXX, that might be taken into consideration.

Marketing wise it all comes down to the numbers. If you click on google search for offshore sportsbooks, the rx is number one. that drives traffic. We had our differences with Major Wager, but bottom line, they have also driven traffic to us. it us up to us to close the customers when traffic is driven our way. Another factor that has made us look more at internet advertising is the fact that many avenues are being cut off as we speak including a lot of radio, print in the states, etc. We feel that internet marketing is less invasive.

i disagree, this one and a few other forums are the the lifestock of offshore bookmakers, let's face it no internet, aka no forums, equals no action for offshore books, i am sure that they dont care for the occasional negative thread but if several ones appear they will and do take notice.
