I called BoDog to get the line for Illinois/Indiana tonight. Guy quotes me Illinois -3.5. I take Indiana, because even though I'm an Illini fan, Indiana is the lock of the week tonight. He quotes me another game, and I take that one. Then he pauses for 5-7 seconds before giving me the readback. He says Indiana +3, and I interrupt him, saying it was +3.5, and he says I'm wrong. Now I would bet my life's savings at -1000 that he quoted me 3.5, and he said the line had not changed since then. So then I get back inside at work, and the line is sure enough 3.5. What gives?

Illini-

What is important is that you listened to the reedback.

That is what a reedback is for, to check your plays.

At that time, you had the oppurtunity to not make the bet at +3.

Fish-

True, you're right. I could have not taken the bet. But the fact is that they changed it on me, and I know that for a fact. And it's still 3.5 now.

may be true, may be very sneaky work...that is why player must remain sharp...you should have hung up & double checked your PC or something to that effect...

dont get me wrong if this is the case I do not agree with the books tactics...& they will never become a "great book" by using these tactics...Dont they have all conversations taped, coudnt you ask for a tape of that conversation where the quote was?

Yes, that sucks if the clerk misquoted the line.

I have had the samething happen to me at some other places.

The fact is though, that is the reason for the reedback.........line confirmations, teams, and wager amounts are double checked.

Fish,

The man got screwed over that line no if buts or advertisers about it... Illini what you need to do is call them back up and tell them you want to listen to that tape when you called in....They're supposed to have it, let them pull it and that will settle the issue my man..

ps Nice site you boys have here

Ask to hear the tape of your conversation now before the play goes off. If they don't let you hear the tape withdraw your money first thing in the morning. You need to only speak to a supervisor in this situation. If this is true then Bodog is really trying to c**** the line training their representatives to do this .They aleady boot you if you bet dogs and win. What's next from what I feel is a C- to D+ book?

Illini - On any call center transaction the players can request CSD find and que up the conversation so that you can listen to it. Sometime this may take15 or 20 minutes (tops) so they may ask you to call back. I would advise you to make the call to CSD and request them to let you hear the entire call. You and they (Bodog) will be able to tell what number the clerk qouted you when you asked for the line. If it was 3.5 ask them to make the adjustment to your bet.

It is not uncommon or unhuman for a clerk to make a mistake.

It happens and will continue to happen.

THAT IS WHAT THE READBACK IS FOR!!

If the clerk accidently gave the line at -8 and instead of 3.5 and Mr Illini bet the +8 before the readback, do you think he would be entitled to that number?? NO.

This would be definite HUGE problem if this happened over and over at a particular place. No question about that.

Well, it was no "accident" or "clerical error" on his part. I interrupted him right away and said "no, it's 3.5." He countered back with "no, it's 3." I said "you quoted me 3.5. Has the line changed?" He said "no, the line is the same as it was, and it's 3."

Illini, you are probably right, but the proof is in the tape, and only you can request a playback of the entire call. You just need to ask them (Bodog CSD). it's your call.

Exactly, u need to call them Illini.

If you have an account at Canbet, u can get the +3.5 now and maybe Bodog will let you cancel the bet.
