General, you know I'm a fan of yours, so don't take this the wrong way:

What if, in the last 3 weeks someone visited this site's "Preferred List" and posted up with PanAm? How would you feel about that? Ken's attitude about this whole incident really, really is bullsh*t. He has still yet to do anything with regard to the bond that he hyped except report yesterday that "they told me there was a bond and their word was golden"....I could go on & on about that & have so I won't again...but this leaving them up on the preferred list for 3 weeks+ is completely lazy, ridiculous, shameful & inexcusable. He can stick all his talk up his ass because this act alone proves how much he cares about the players.

As GENERAL said, we are in the process of taking them down ......and making a new list.

As mods, we have put this request into management.

Thank you

Sundevil,

Thanks, but I will stand behind SHRINK on this matter. There are investors involved who do not give a chit about you, me, or SHRINK. I am as guilty as SHRINK for hyping BetPanAm. We were wrong. And we will be wrong again. There are some things in the works for a bailout come worst case. The fact that Betpanam will not either 1.) Pay 2.) Tell us they are dead, is causing us much headache.

Would you want a bailout now and then 1 week later Panam arises from the dead?

BetpanAm needs to tell us if they are going to pay or not. Until then, it is a terrible ordeal. I would rather them post they are belly up than to not speak at all.

Fish, I've nothing against you & General but there is no excuse for this oversight. The accountability lies at the top for that, not on you guys.

General, I appreciate you being willing to stand in the line of fire for your boss and that you (somewhat unlike him) will take some accountability here, but the only issue I'm really at odds with in this thread is how in God's good name they remained on the preferred list through the Superbowl. How hard was it for Ken to think of doing that on the day he took down their banners?

As for The RX Preferred List, we are revising. It is something that has been needed done for awhile, but we only have so many bodies to help. We are addressing now, lead by FISHHEAD. I am coordinating the Bonus page as well. Keep in mind, we are going thru an ownership change and tech changes. We will get it right. It is appreciated that posters point out these areas in need of work. We will accomidate all requests the best we can.

Thanks

They are not being taken down, because they are a paid advertiser and have either paid, or still owe the Rx money. That seems pretty clear to me.

That is completely false GREEN.

I am shocked by that statement coming from you.

PANAM was taken down from this site many days ago!!........much faster than some other sites I might add!!

As stated, we are revamping the Preferred List as we speak and agree it was a terrible oversight on our part.

I will admit to that mistake as much as anybody sir. My sincere apologies for that.........and to everyone else.

No excuses, but this site has much to attend to on a regular basis and it was an honest mistake.

Thanks GreenD.

I apologize if it was my error, Fish. however, my point was there is conflict of interest when it is an advertiser here. They pay you money to advertise here, and so you will do your bet to look out for their best interest. Always know where your bread is buttered. I could make 1 million brilliant posts pertaining to gambling but it will not bring the Rx any revenue in compared to a book paying for advertising. I am not naive to the revenue streams of internet advertising and realize that without the books this site would be nonexistent. You are dependent on PanAm and other books for your revenue. That was all I was saying, if it came out as an attack I didn't mean it that way.
I am as dismayed as anyone else on this slow pay/no pay? situation but 1) I never put any money into BetPanAm because I felt there were better outs and 2) too many people on this board are simply flaming each other and attacking parties without realizing it is not in the best interest of people getting paid.

Newbie, exactly what do you want us to do? you are now complaining that we arent putting up a new list fast enough....The whole reason it is taking longer, is because we are taking every precaution in making sure this list is simply the cream of the crop....If we put up a list real fast, without checking anything, and another goes tits up, are we any better off than we were with this list?

Yes, there was an oversight that Panam was still on the preferred list, we are sorry...In response to an earlier question, should a new poster have seen that, i would hope that they would have checked out the rest of the site before sending them money....That way they would have seen all the posts about Panam, I'm not saying they had to, just hoping....It was an error, and we are sorry....
That is why we are taking a little longer to make the changes so that there are no mistakes...
Our plan is to have the list up by this weekend, and it will reflect the best of the best, books with no history of major problems, a very small list of minor problems (ones that were corrected quickly) and ones that have gotten high praise from the most important people, the posters.....

Can u please give us that, just a week?

thanks

"Ownership change"??? That was months ago! This is the same bs people are hearing from PanAm.

quote:
They are not being taken down, because they are a paid advertiser and have either paid, or still owe the Rx money.

Not quite. It's because there are friends of certain people (syndicates, money movers) who are owed a lot of money, and they need for PanAm to keep taking post-ups so they have a chance of getting paid, while using the forums to express phony outrage and that "we're doing something".

You don't have to "revamp" the list. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS REMOVE A NO-PAY BOOK FROM THAT LIST!!! Which should've taken about 5 minutes if someone really wanted to do it.

Why can't Pan Am be taken off the list before a whole new list is put up?

I might add, it will not be list of two or three books either but a list of books one can mull over and then decide for THEMSELVES if it is right for them.

Ones we feel confident in recommeding!!

ARE THEY 100% SAFE!!

NO, but the intention is to give the readers a resource for something to look at as a reference to go by.

These are books that the boardroom members would not be leary about posting up with and ones where we have are actual own money in at one time or another!!

If you or anybody else would like to nominate a NON-advertiser book for recommendation, we would be more than happy to consider it.

Perhaps best to do so after the list comes out and then we will discuss adding it.

I RECOMMEND YOU FIND OUT AS MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT A BOOK FROM THIS SITE AND OTHER SITES LIKE THIS AND THEN DECIDE IF THE RISK IS WORTH THE POSSIBLE REWARD WITH THAT BOOK!

Good advice in doing due diligence on your own Fish.
Now I just looked closer at the Preferred Books page and I have a bone to pick.
Yes, they are all books that advertise with you and there are some non-advertised books at the bottom of the page.
I have no problem with this and realize it is just business. But when you come out and say we are putting together a new list that will be comprehensive without giving a disclaimer that advertisers will likely get preferential treatment that is not telling it like it is.
I don't blame you as you work for the site and the site has a responsibility to promote its advertisers. It would be really difficult to explain to a paid advertiser why you didn't list them as a preferred book and listed someone not paying your bills.

I realize it would be impossible to not cater to businesses you do business with. If I were in your shoes I'd probably have to grudgingly do the same. But the problem is when a not-so-knowledgable person comes in and actually believes a book like Blue Marlin is better than Olympic because it is merely presented that way. But then again, isn't this what advertising and marketing are all about?

Hope this helps you understand where I'm coming from.
